Don't worry, Northerners, the affluence will filter down to you soon enough.

Shouldnt it be filter up to us since you are so far down south?

My Uncle lives in Basingstoke and it reminded me of a similar place up north called skelmersdale.

PS I hope that is not your only wage 5K per month - pittance to us northeners

    £5k a month - my only wage?

Do me a favour .... I get the income from the BTL's and the crappy monthly interest on my savings of around £1250.

Skelmersdale was always the cheapest part of the country to buy a home, is that still true?

Of course, a Basingstoke garden shed would cost more than a family home in the North.

Anyway, why all the talk of Basingstoke - just because I went shopping there? I could have gone to West Quays in Southampton just the same .....

What sort of idiot goes to new york on a shopping trip then comes back and goes to basingstoke to finish off their shopping?

One with mental health issues that manifest themselves with odd posting on internet forums?

Anyway, an imaginary trip to Basingstoke is nothing if you've already imagined that you've been all the way to New York. I did my imaginary Christmas shopping in Paris this year. Bought my made-up girlfriends a make-believe Mr Frosty.

Whichever is the truth, it doesn't show him in a good light.

I think he's just a wind-up merchant, in which case he's failing. He doesn't so much wind me up, he simply provokes a response I think he deserves.

I'm married, so it's safer to have imaginary ones.
