It's more likely to kill your plant tbh. Cover the soil up with pebbles, sea shells or glass "stones" and move the plant somewhere less accessible?
And cat pee won't hurt you when pregnant btw. It's poo that's the danger and even then, if you worm your cat properly and regularly it shouldn't be an issue, especially if you also wear rubber gloves while cleaning out the litter tray. Wearing gloves while gardening outside is vital though as soil can contain faeces from many animals, not all of which will have been wormed.Val.0 -

A week ago my (neutered) tom cat urinated in the cat carrier on the way to the cattery and the urine got onto the car seat upholstery and carpet.
I thought that I had cleaned it up and deodorised it really well as I tackled it within a few minutes of it happening . . . . . but when I opened the car door this morning after a week away - the smell of Tom Cat Pee was very strong
I would be very grateful for ideas on how I can try to get rid of the smell - or failing that, can the smell be masked until it fades with time?:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

I thought you meant TCP as in the stuff they used to use at school, I love that smell
Will bicarb of soda not neutralize it a little?0 -

You have strange tastes lol! I poured some of this down my kitchen sink a while ago and it stunk for days, horrible smell. To make matters worse I put the glass bottle in one recycling bin and the plastic top in another, took weeks to get rid of that smell - think I would almost prefer cat pee!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
Recommendation seems to be for white vinegar and bicarb (scroll down):

US people also seem to favour a mixed approach that uses hydrogen peroxide:

Between those, a febreze spray, and putting dryer sheets under the car seats, HTH.August grocery challenge: £8.65/£300

The best stuff I have found - although it's not OS - is a small can of solvent spray (like dry cleaning stuff) you can buy in Tescos.
I have not had any problems with it affecting the car seat material/pattern etc.
I washed the seat with a disinfectant solution (I like zoflora for the scent) and let it dry completely for several days.
Then I sprayed the area lightly and rubbed with a microfibre cloth, did that a few times and aired the car out. I repeated several times (on different days) and haven't noticed any smell since.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
