Play.com express delivery

Options
Hi

I ordered an item and paid express delivery, play confirmed delivery would be today and no item as yet......no facility to track the parcel on their website and no details of which courier they use, therefore I don't know if maybe its still en route.....been on the phone on hold for over 35 mins now and it's pretty frustrating! Does any one know who their courier for express delivery is? And how late in the evening they deliver until?

Thanks

  • I think it is parcel force, they deliver 7am to 5.30pm I THINK :)

Great! So no chance I am getting it today then. Certainly won't be using Play if I am in a hurry.
  • Can you not find anything useful in your account with play? I go on order history, view order details. Has the item been dispatched?

From play - During the checkout process, if for any reason your items no longer qualify for Express Delivery (for example, if the order deadline passes or if stock runs out), this will affect the estimated delivery date.

No useful info, item dispatched, delivery due today, no facility to track the order.....play are officially useless, now been on hold for a hour!
  • :grouphug:I must admit I won't be using express delivery then! I buy from them and always get my parcels within the days it states so always thought they were good tbh

You have lasted longer on the phone than I would have! Have a dodgy hug :grouphug:

I'm in the same boat Alibali. I placed an order with Play yesterday and paid £8.99 for express delivery that said it would arrive today. I know all the couriers are busy but it would be nice to at least having a tracking number? I won't be using Play's so called Express service again. Good luck!

Well, finally got through to them......they had no idea where my order was, claimed the they deliver via Royal mail! I don't fancy my chances of getting it for Xmas now  THey refunded the delivery charge and after kicking up a fuss I got a five pound voucher for wasting my time :j will stick to free delivery next time :rotfl:
  • So did they just send it by standard royal mail then? Not parcelforce 24 or anything guaranteed? Bit of a con isn't it?

  • I ordered 5 items on 24-hour delivery on Sunday. Emails all sent on Monday saying arrival time would be Tuesday. Nothing arrived on Tuesday. Got 1 of the 5 on Wednesday. Nothing has arrived today (and my postman has been and gone).

The one item I did get was delivered via the normal postman, and there was no special labelling on the package indicating any sort of expedited delivery. What's worrying is that I purchased the 5 items in groups of 2 and 3 respectively. The one that arrived was part of the 2, so who knows where the second is, for starters!

All 5 items were DVD-sized or smaller, so I'm not anticipating them coming in a van with them. The fact that they don't offer a tracking number suggests to me that they don't ship them on genuine 24-hour recorded/special delivery. Moreover, if all the items are shipped separately even when purchased together, I don't see how the dividing of the express charge would cover a genuine 24-hour service.

Does anyone know what the delivery pattern is for Royal Mail over the xmas period?
