Have you seen a better deal ? What are your thoughts about this phone. Is it an iPhone4S killer ?

  • Getting one tomorrow. Had a play with one for a week and love it. The reason I like it is the screen size, web browsing, games and watching videos and TV. I was going to get a tablet and a basic Nokia phone but didn't want to be carrying around 2 devices so the Note does what i want and in 1 thing.

The S-Pen is very handy for taking notes, copy and paste plus there are quite a few apps available for it from Samsung apps.

I'm getting it from a friend who works at Carphone Warehouse so I'll be getting it on PAYG with 30% off so works out at £419.

As for iPhone 4S killer......the S II already did that.

Lucky you, getting one so soon...

I'm looking at getting insurance as they are so valuable.

The cheapest way seems to get it covered by household contents insurance - specialist mobile phone insurance seems pricey at around £50 a year.

I'm still monitoring the prices for this.

I've found another company matching the offer, again through T-Mobile, and another co. doing it for £31 x 24 via Vodafone, which is my preferred carrier.

Still a bit too much for my liking though, I need either less money monthly or/and a shorter 18 month term.

Have any of you seen better?

    TIA,

    Mark.

Hmmm, it depends if you care what others think I guess.

If you read the same forum you'll see comments about how much praise the handsets can get too.

It hasn't put me off getting one.

IMO this handset, along with the HTC Sensation XL, and the Dell Streak are setting a new trend - say hello to the phoneblet, a whole new niche in mobile phone tech.

Most reviews are favourable, with many (Android loving?) reviewers becoming converts and actually choosing to own one.

Go on, be brave, don't worry what the minority will think, buy one.

Found it for £228.45 but I think the site is suspect (no postal address).

    100% con.
They don't even have a phone number and a e-mail address, let alone a postal address.

They do have some postal address for returns:
    Bay Ltd.
    Trawler Road
    Swansea, SA1 1XA
    West Glamorgan
    United Kingdom
However, Trawler Road is a long street with many big and small houses.

Despite showing Visa and Mastercard logos they in fact accept only

    Paysafecard
    Ukash
    Bank Transfer
    Green Dot

Also, they offer iPhone 4s 64Gb for £425 with "free Shipping and up to 30% Discount on your First Order".

One has to be very naive to pay them.

I am sure it's a fraudulent website, the prices are just too cheap.

    They're also offering 25 x Apple iPhone 4 16Gb by Apple for £2440.00 the lot LOL - a con - http://www.baymobile.co.uk/cartshipping.php?action=add&id=152 .

There legitimacy is discussed here - http://www.avforums.com/forums/general-chat/1564381-www-baymobile-co-uk-resufaces-beware.html .

    Beware.

For a niche product it seems to be in demand and selling well.

Samsung have shipped 1 million of them in the Asia and European markets alone, since late October - about half a million a month on just 2 continents !
