Thanks. I can't see how to get it to work if I thread it in the curtain first, will have to look again. What I'd like is a hook with a separate hook for the top (for the glider) and one for the bottom, for the curtain. Haven't seen any online, may go have a look around.

I think violetta meant use a curtain hook on the curtain tape first (threaded) with the long bit pointing towards the window, then thread the long bit on to the glider.

you take the curly hook go up through the 'strings' on the tape on the top of the curtain, keep pushing it / twist it round so the strings are in the middle of the hook, and the hook is now pointing down, then put the hook downwards through the hole in the track hook.

it sounds very complicated, (I sat for ages fiddling with my 1st set of new curtains before I phoned my mum to come and show me!) but once you get it its not!!

like someone said up there, before you pull the strings to make the curtains pleated, tie all three (or maybe 2 depending on the curtains) in a knot together otherwise they'll just pull all the way out.

Hey, I got it to work! I actually ended with the point bit pointing up, then slipped it onto the glider hook and rolled it until it was pointing down, and the thread went right into the other, smaller hooked area. Now, I just need to order more glider hooks 'cause there aren't enough, and hope the new ones are the same!

When you hook the curtain onto the metal bit of the rail, the part that is pulled open and closed by the drawstrings at the side of the window, do you use this same hook? I may do something hinky and use a cable tie if I can't sort it that bit out, lol.

It's something like this you need for the ends.

thanks so much for posting this, just what I was after to keep the warm in my flat.
  • Collected mines today and am so in love with that purple, I thought it would have been really bright in color, but its the perfect shade of purple for my room, now I've just reserved the red.:D;)

  • Picked up duck egg and red last night, duck egg are going back as let in lots of light.... Thought they'd be heavier than this and lining doesn't seem to block out any light. Haven't opened red yet but they're just for study anyway.
  • Many thanks OP. Just picked up the purple ones and put them up in the study/guest room. They do let a little light in but the colour is great and a bargain for £12. Can put blackout linings behind the curtains in summer if the light is a problem for guests.
