It not unreasonable to ask, but legally you can't enforce it.
The vendor can repair,or replace it at their choice with one of equil or better quality. As long as they are willing to replace it they are covered.0 -
You are quoting the SOGA that has nothing to do with HTC. They repair/replace under warranty that can be more (or less) generous.0

The fact remains it was HTC phone that broke it was HTC that didnt fix it 3 times and it was HTC that LOST MY phone, surely i have every right to feel peeved.... HTC should do the right thing and replace LOST phone with a shiny new one0

Why should they? They will replace like for like. So you're no worse off.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

FRU field replacement unit, 'something put together out of spare parts' the kind lady told me..... sounds AMAZING, not quite the 'sensation' i was hoping for but if it works its better than my old one.
Moral of the story AVOID AVOID AVOID HTC, theyre good when they work but from what ive experienced and resesarched online they dont work that often and when they do break, it opens a whole new world of poor customer service, and your phone will likely never work the same again.
HTC one of cheaper smartphone manufacturers but in this case its very much a case of you get what you pay for.0 -

FRU is just exactly that. It's the smallest CONVENIENT part that can be swapped in the field.
You would not expect a engineeer to replace the main CPU in a phone in the field you simply swap the motherboard and fix the problem elsewhere. For a mouse it's probably the entire mouse, when they had balls the mouse and ball were seperate FRU's. Sure you could take the mouse apart to change the circuits or microswitches but it's not cost effective to do so.
Just because it's FRU's it does mean it may not be brand new, most FRU parts are new, some are refurb, but either way they are checked and working.0 -

Ah, I remember the days when mice had balls....

Ahh good old HTC, still the worlds worst customer service ever.
I take it the UPS shipment has a proof of delivery back to 'HTC' - I say 'HTC' because it doesn't go to HTC, it goes to a clueless outsourcer who couldn't repair a breezeblock without making a mess of it.
...not that I'm bitter over the 23 weeks worth of repairs my HTC phones had or anything lol0
