Just been called by Refresh (after reading this forum, think they are RMC, Refresh My Credit) about a PPI claim, on a single payment premium on my mortgage, they offered to do it for 25%, which may be actually 25% + VAT,!
Would anyone recommend Refresh ? or any other company ? noticed some do it for less than 25%,
or, is it easy to do yourself, and save hundreds ?

Single premium MPPI is an absolute doddle of a complaint. Whilst MPPI has a far lower success rate on complaint than loan or credit card, single premium MPPI is considered wrong.
All a claims company will do is stick a stamp on an envelope with a list of reasons why you were mis-sold (whether they apply to you or not). It takes them about 30 seconds. All you need to do is state why you think it was mis-sold on in a letter of around 3 sentences in your case and put it in an envelope yourself.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Yes it is. As dunstonh says, making a complaint is simple. And it's also free.davidjames1701 wrote: »or, is it easy to do yourself, and save hundreds ?
If you use a claims company you're simply creating a very large bill for yourself and adding another delay to the process. Instead of dealing with the lender directly, you'd be chasing the claims company and relying on them to chase the lender.
The phone calls and paperwork required to engage a claims company takes longer to complete than making your complaint would.0 -

Remember, if you don't get the answer you want then you can go to the Ombudsman afterwards.0 -
I phoned my bank to ask how to make a claim for a single premium on a loan. They took the details and said they had twelve weeks to get back to me. Seven weeks later I found £3k in my account. The following day I got a letter telling me £3k was on its ways to me. Couldn't have been easier or more rewarding.Sell £1500

You dont send it to the lender or the insurer. You send it to the mortgage broker. They are the ones that carry the liability for the advice they gave.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
