Hello all,

Another year on and what a year it's been :rotfl:. In 2011 I:
1. Saved for a buffer fund which helped me through a few weeks unemployment between the old job finishing and the new one starting, and helped me to move to a new city for my new job.
2. Went to a great friends wedding.
3. Went to Majorca to see some old friends from repping days.
4. Had many ups and downs before the old job finished and before I knew the new one was happening.
5. Moved from the West to the East and got myself a social life through here.
6. Got a new job on the same salary as the last one. :j
7. Had a LOT of fun and socialising with some amazing friends , saw Liza live, saw some fab theatre and had some great meals out.
8. Lost 8/10 pounds, twice  on the South Beach Diet.
As well as lots more.

I now earn a decent salary but want to get the best out of it as I don't know about you but I believe I'm only here once so I might as well enjoy it and have a good time. I do have debt but I pay it dwon a bit every month and that works for me.

The phrase in the title of the diary is my new mantra. This year I will endeavour to do mostly what 'suits me' ie makes me happy and content. The opposite to this of course is 'It doesn't suit me' which is a phrase i can use when I dont want to do something :rotfl:

For anyone interested I am a retail manager, single and fabulous and 33. I've met some amazing folk on here and while I can't promise to be the most frugal character, I do try to get the best out of my cash.

LOADS of plans for 2012 but just getting them together so will just say that I have booked a trip to Goa for Feb to see my gay best friend and his boyfriend there and will be going to the gym lots to look good in my bikini for it, so that's Plan 1.

Hoping for a great year and be great to have some of y'all along for the journey X

    Okay so plans:

    1. Save £300 a month for holidays. Goa is booked and I am planning Ibiza in June/july and ideally one other holiday this year, plus a few trips to London and Manchester. This will as usual go into the bank of Mum so I dont spend it.
    2. Keep at the gym and look at getting a personal trainer in the New Year to help get me fit.
    3. Be much more adventurous with food and do something new at least once a fortnight.
    4. Do something different once a month (continued from last year). This can be art, theatre, visiting a different city or something utterly random!
    5. Make the most of my time in my new city and visit lots of attractions and art galleries. Also take in as much of the festival as I can.
    6. Learn as much as I can in the new job and enjoy it.

Think that's enough to be getting on with for now. In order to do all of the above I'll need to keep an eye on my cash and keep my grocery spending and general fritterings tight, as always!

EEk there's a stray apostrophe in the title. How do I get rid of it?

Goa in Feb, well I bet that sure beats the East that time in the year - even down this way (very South, but also extremely East!) it is bitter brrrr!

Glad you have finished the year off so well - onwards and up up upwards to the next one!

Hope the madness of Xmas in retail is almost over for you - working in a head office role it backs right off for me so I don't bombard anyone with stuff they don't need right now, so am tapping my nails/spinning on my chair (great expression borrowed from my ex hubs) a bit at the mo.

Good luck, and I hope to hear all about your adventures of suiting-you-madame-ness! :rotfl:

    xx
