Happy New Year xx0 -
Sounds like a fantastic couple of days - shame about work getting sandwiched in the middle, but hey.....a few weeks ago you would have been desperate to know that was going to be the case!
It has been a bit of a year for all of us - and I want to say thank you for showing us all that despite being on budgets and having unknowns like job issues cropping up, we are still able to give ourselves permission to "live". We can manage to do this one way or another - sometimes spending cash, sometimes not. It is about the company we keep, the fun and laughter we give out, and saying, Hell Yeah, when we want to.
I hope 2012 is a fabulous one for you - for us all. Thank you for all your support - it has been invaluable to me. Even if all I have done in return is to encourage you to clean your grill :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Happy New Year all!
Had a great one  but worked yesterday  so today is my pottery 1st of Jan kind of day.
Just booked my train South for my flight to Goa so the holiday fund is now at £577.60.
Spends wise I've had a spendy week so will reasses my weekly spends slightly after tonight if I do go out as one of the people I was going out with cant make it. Nothing major so far, just bought a few Kindle books and a fab itison voucher for a haircut. I am planning to meet with a personal trainer in the next few days though so that might make me a bit skint, but also skinny!
Hypno thanks for your lovely post. I guess for me my default setting is to 'live' if you like. It just wouldnt occur to me to sit in and be miserable and I am well aware that sometimes if you want company you have to go out and get it and just make the plans and invite people to do stuff yourself rather than waiting for invites all the time. I get really annoyed when I read 'woe is me' stuff. Stop being a whingebag and get out there!!! Yes, its easier if you are confident but ultimately tis your life and you have to create what you want for yourself. Here endeth the lesson!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
EEEKKKK. Just been online and looked at the bank account and it's not great  A wee bottle of fizz here, bits and bobs there and a £113  Vodafone bill from all my rabbiting on when I was away mean that I'm much skinter than I thought.
However, work have cocked up my tax the last 2 months and lost my P45 so Im being taxed as if Im on 100k :rotfl::rotfl:I was short 124 this month and about 200 last month. My Area Manager is chasing this so hopefully this will be sorted soon and I'll get a bit of this back. I also need to reapply for £210 worth of housing benefit and I have all the info now so can hopefully get this this month.
So bearing this in mind and also that I have another wage to go before Goa I am going to rejig a bit and will change the figs to this:
£47 for Indian Visa
£450 Holiday Budget
£146.70 Spends This is just under £50 a week. Hoping its doable but if not I will be able to borrow a wee bit from the Goa money
£80 for personal training (not sure how much a sesh costs but they're not cheap!)
£40 Xmas cheque for something nice.
£22 in purse for the rest of this week
£26.10 left in grocery budget. I think I might be able to borrow from this too as I have SOOOO much food in.
No great panic, thanks to the holiday money but I definetely need to get back on to watching spending better and only drawing cash out so I know where Im at.
Achieved one of my aims tonight and made some lovely lamb in the SC done with tomato chutney, garlic, stock, red wine and rosemary. It was delicious and will do a few more dinners.
Off tomorrow and have a deal for Pizza Express so am going with the lovely Flying Fresian. I also need to buy a new white sheet from primark to go with my new bedding I got at Xmas. I have a cream sheet but that just doesn't go. I know, I know it's like an illness :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Back to work Wednesday and the new regime starts then. Gym before work, seeing the personal trainer, cutting down on the booze and not spending loads. At least I dont need to do the dreaded diet this year as I haven't put pounds on, just want to tone it all up and get fit. Gym is full of hot men, which does help!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0
