Looks like the current crop of 'winners' are;
a) Brands who place convenience high on the agenda and are interacted with a lot (supermarkets, Amazon)
b) Low-price / high value for money chains (Poundland, Primark)
c) Premium brands that focus quite heavily on customer service (M&S, John Lewis)
Financial service and utilities companies rating low (as expected), but also the financial service aggregators like MoneySupermarket and Go Compare are as well. Very interesting...given that they're also in the convenience space, I'm surprised that they didn't do better.
Perhaps we don't value brands that focus a lot on intangible stuff like energy and insurance, even if we 'like' them for other reasons.
BBC is rating relatively high too. Good for them.0 -
Well that was amusing. I clicked on the link expecting to have to think about it lots and choose between different companies I adore. I actually struggled to pick one and that one I haven't been able to afford for several months. The rest of them I wouldn't be seen dead with or I hate totally. Even the ones I use I don't actually like.
Most enlightening, thank you0 -
The 'VOTE' button does not work for me!!
Correction - using link from the top of the forum, the vote button worked ok. When I used the link from facebook the vote button did not work - weird!!
Worth investigating mse???Better a pebble given out of love than a diamond given out of duty.0 -
Anyone else let out an audible gasp when they saw Tesco had 18%? I cannot think of a worse company myself...richardlower wrote: »Shame you missed OVO and GiffGaff.
Umm, who? Are you a director of those firms?"The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -
Premier Inn are a good company I agree, they should be on the list. If you get a bad stay you get your money back, you can't really argue with that.0

1. MSE :money:
2. Post office
3. NHS
4. Local privately owned corner shop (always open, always got/will get anything)
5. Rumanian owned car wash.
Don't be so modest Martin, your site is definitely the most popular/money saving/helpful/sociable place I know!
Only one of mine is on your list, and the last two could be covered by an 'other' button
Agree with some others, don't know how tesco got on the list, wouldn't set foot inside their shops if they paid me. The worst customer service and unhelpful staff I've ever had the displeasure to come across0 -
I see First Direct are there but where are the big 4 banks? - somebody, somewhere must love them:D0

Amazon - great delivery, good customer service
John Lewis - It always feels so nice to shop there, great service.
Waitrose - friendly staff who know what they are doing.

Amazon - always reliable, competitive prices and excellent service.
Morrison's - For their fish/meat/deli counter alone. Beats Tesco and Asda hands down.
Cafe Nero - Forget Costa and Starbucks. This is where you get a decent coffee from. Strongand good price.
Virgin Media - TV, phone and broadband service fantastic. I couldn't live without my Tivo box.
Poundland - I always love a bargain :j0
