Theres a good science museum there called Inspire.

Other than that you could give Lowestoft a look (sorry I feel I HAVE to publicise the place :rotfl: ). A lovely seaside town with lots of shops, pubs and cafes and the seafront really clean and near the town centre.

Which bit of Lowestoft do you go to? I avoid it like the plague!!
Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

I live right in the town centre so I don't notice it. I love it here though. I've lived in loads of places in the past and always ended up back in Lowestoft.

The Fat Cat is a little out of the city, but ranked in the top ten pubs in the country by CAMRA.

Nice to see another afficianardo [sp]!!
Used to play pub golf, and this always included the Fat Cat and surrounding area, pub for every day of the year!!

Another interesting drinkery is Bedfords - much more central - but set in a former Crypt for an unusual atmoshepre - trhinking abou it there are 2 more places with crypts - St Andrews Hall restaurant and also The Loius Marchesi

The Castle tours of the dungeon and battlements are still on and both are fascinating in different ways. The dungeons tour is positively scary and not for the faint hearted! The castle also has a good art collection and does decent cheap lunches.
I'd endorse all the other recommendations and would also mention Cafe Bar Marzano in the Forum as a good place to sit and watch the world go by. There's also the Georgian splendour of the Assembly Rooms and the rather curious and charming Caley's Coffee Shop in the Guildhall.
Oh and if you want to go to a real country auction there's one in Aylsham every Monday (20 mins from Norwich).
Hope you have a great time...but don't tell too many people-- being a bit off the beaten track is what keeps the place so good!!!

And as OP said the Fat Cat is a shrine which all real ale lovers must visit...the only pub to win CAMRA Pub Of The Year twice!
Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!

I would definitely say hire a boat for the day and go out on the Broads. It's definitely the best way to see them. Might be a tad cold in February though.

I don't think they do hire boats in february but you can go on a boat trip along the river which runs through Norwich.
