I gave poundland as example becasue of this article

@Lith and Lady MissA yes at some time time you will have to work 35 hours week for free be it at poundland or volunter work.
Im not on the work programe but do have a friend who is he started about August time and they are starting to try to get him to do voluter work they have sent his cv to 2 charity shops he made the mistake of signing the form and told me he did not really look at all the stuff he signs.
His provider is under A4e if you google them there employers have been in trouble for fake signtures and also had 60k fine for breach of data protection.
No I have it in writing from the Ops Director from my provider that they DO NOT send people anywhere if there is no actual job.
And the girl in the newspaper article is not on the Work Programme as you have to be out of work 1 year to be so and the job centre does not get involved with anything after you are sent over to the WP0 -
I have an appointment for the work programme on the 25th and I'm just wondering what to expect? What will they make me do?0
-
If you have never been to provider before all they will do is ask you to sign data protection waiver which gives them a right to give your details out .
The next thing they normley do is decide if your Job ready if not they may park you which means you wont have to go there for a while depending how busy the centre is maybe for the induction. At most you will have to go to there 3 times a week for what they call Job Club This is for about 2 hours on each day. After the 6-9 months on the programe is when it starts to get tougher and the start trying to put you in slave labour work.
Keep us informed how you get on anyone just starting or who been on it 6 months plus.0 -

Its all well and good people putting up details of this but when the reality hits you at the jobcentre I just wonder how many people actually can do what it says and avoid these placements.
My advice do this at your peril. The reality is the govt and j/c can make you do what they like if you want to carry on receiving JSA. If you fail to engage in any of their policies you will soon incur their wrath and your money will be stopped within days pending a likely sanction that could be for any length of time they like.
Who can afford to take that risk when they are without any other source of income?
As I said these sites are all well and good and make it sound like a good idea but I've yet to hear anyone say that this works. If someone can prove otherwise with video evidence then fair enough it'll be worth the effort but for me this is a lot of hassle to go through with no guarantees. You may as well just play the game, or genuinely look for a job. It seems jobseekers have too much time on their hands if they can make the effort to look into all the laws regarding JSA, I'm sure they have enough intelligence to find themselves a job!!!0 -
so you actually think your going to get a job out of this WP ?
This WP is the one where you work 35 hours for JSA yea? how you finding it ?
You don't work 35 hours a week on the Work Programme. You must be thinking of either the Community Action Programme, Mandatory Work Activity scheme, or the one where they send you to Poundland (don't know what that one is called).0 -

If you have been on it 4 mths then the JC ALWAYS ask to see job searches so why would you hand them over to the WP? I have a seperate one for them which I email (now 12 pages long) and the booklets I fill in for ALL jobs applied for that I show the JC and the WP take a photo copy of them too0 -
The job centre do not tell you what to do in teh way of home work other than your agreement to apply for work etc.
