First the Jobecentre will ask you to sign a form for the WORK PROGRAME this form is to sign your rights away for Data Protection Act so they can your details to Provider (refuse to sign they cant send your details over)
Next they will send you to Provider who will again ask you to sign a Data Protection Waiver (refuse again and they cant send cvs etc details etc to employers voulounter work etc)
They will also get you to sign a plan again refuse and they cant hold against you
All Jobcentre will try to get you to change job seekers agreemant again refuse this stick to original
Most importantly refuse to sign anything at providers just put your name in on forms never sign.
When you sign for any thing you are signing your rights away
You do have to attend work training like making cvs interview training etc bt working for free no.
You are very likely to get sanctions at some time after being on the programe.
You are talking about signing forms and no the job centre never asked me to sign anything at all so I still had to attend the WP.
All those forms aside you can still be made to do the homework set .
You say 'They will also get you to sign a plan again refuse and they cant hold against you'
What plan is this & where is this written? On the consent form it says that you do not have to sign meaning they can't forward your CV on but where does it says about signing or rather not needing to sign a plan?0 -
If you refuse to sign won't they stop your JSA?
There was a video on youtube of a guy with a hidden cam who was at the job centre and he refused to sign the new deal claim, in the end the police came and he was sanctioned for 6 months....

They wont stop you for not signing but they will pressure you into it and they can make up any number of other reasons to have you sanctioned which is why filming is good idea.
The whole thing is ilegal which is why the govermant is chooseing private companys to run these things so they dont get the blame.
All worgroup programe will do overtime will put more and more pressure on you to get a job the longer your on it such as trying to make you do unpaid work and sanctions for the smallest reasons so in the end getting a job a job doing hard graft will seem a luxary comapred to the programe.
@the other poster the action plans sometimes come about 1 month or sooner into the pland sometimes later, the force voluntary work comes about 6 months into the programe. At some time after being on the programe you are very likely to recive a sanction anyway as its the bigest tool to getting there pressuring you into any job.0 -
hmmm so has someone 'out there' refused this Wp and if so.. what became of this person ? if this is illegal then why is the JC/GOVT doing this ? also what are the 'jobs' they put you in via the WP ? council jobs I assume ? this is disgusting to hear.• HSBC (Main A/C)

I have been on the WP since August and nothing of the sort at my end. Are you on it? I have also been told by the Ops Director of my provider that you will never be made to do a work trial where a job does not exsist only if they have a job.
so you actually think your going to get a job out of this WP ?
This WP is the one where you work 35 hours for JSA yea? how you finding it ?• HSBC (Main A/C)

How long should it take a potential employer to see that you are suitable for REAL PAID employment? As surely as night follows day capitalism will come crumbling down. On a mission to secure a just and ethical society.0 -

Get a job out of it? How will I? They have told me already there isn't much they can do for me as and I quote 'the Work Programme is not really meant for people like me'
The Work Programme is where you work 35 hours? No it isn't - sorry.0 -
They can tell if you are suitable for the job they have firstly by your CV
What I believe Fox hound means is say the provider gave him/her a placemant at poundland how long would poundland keep him working there for nothing 1 year or 2 year.
I gave poundland as example becasue of this article
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/jan/15/unemployed-young-people-need-jobs
@Lith and Lady MissA yes at some time time you will have to work 35 hours week for free be it at poundland or volunter work.
Im not on the work programe but do have a friend who is he started about August time and they are starting to try to get him to do voluter work they have sent his cv to 2 charity shops he made the mistake of signing the form and told me he did not really look at all the stuff he signs.
His provider is under A4e if you google them there employers have been in trouble for fake signtures and also had 60k fine for breach of data protection.0
