    Hiya,

Yeah, I'm from the northeast. ;-)
I have a feeling you might be at the same WP as I am. Have they recently moved premises?

well, my advisor is getting rather cheeky. He told me my next appt. will be a phone interview, at 8.45am, providing I was out of bed at that time
I asked why did I have to still attend even though I'm on ESA. It's rules apparently, and even if I do get a job, within the 2 year WP frame, I'll still have to attend....yeah right!!
And I wish they'd stop it with the warehousing suggestions. When a doctor tells you NO!! you listen to the doctor, not a pen pusher.
I'm on my way to the WP just now, doped up with diazepam. My daughter is coming with me (luckily she's home from uni still), it's the only I'll be able to get there without having a panic attack. Even after the diazepam I'm still shaking form head to toe. Its the first time I'll have been to see them since I started claiming ESA, the letter they sent with my appointment on says I have to provide proof of the jobs I've applied for, but as I'm on ESA I haven't applied for any recently, so I have a feeling they are going to have a go at me, which is making my anxiety even worse. Hardly slept a wink last night and have felt sick since NY eve knowing that today was coming :(

    Good luck !
  • Is anyone with Ingeus in Kings Cross and can tell me more about it? How are the advisors, how often do they want to see you and have they forced you into unpaid work? You can also PM me, I would really appreciate it!
I just had my first appointment (before the Christmas holidays), it was a 121 and she will see me soon again. I am just not sure how possibly she can help me, I doubt it, I feel that the WP sessions will be quite useless but I wonder how strict they are. Do they often send people into forced unpaid work?

you dont have to attend if you are not signing on/claiming. so get a job that is for 16 hours or more and you wont have to see them while you have the job. although they will hassle you every now and then. if you arent claiming they have no power over you so you can ignore them if you are in employment if you wish.
if the job ended within the 2 years you would get refered straight back to them though.

politely explain the issue. if they still insist then just apply. then consider making a complaint. if you dont want the hassle and they keep insisting just apply for the unsuitable jobs and if you get a response from the employer explain to them the issue and apologise for wasting their time.

well I was panicking about nothing :o the new advior was lovely. She was fine about the fact I'm not currently applying for jobs and when I mentioned about my MIL having lung cancer and that there is a possibility that I may need to become her carer at some point she was fine about that and said if I need any help filling forms in etc just to give her a shout.

She's arranging for me to talk to someone about possibly getting some volunteer work, if I feel up to it, she said she's not going to push me into doing anything I don't feel I can cope with and if I ever am feeling really bad about my situation to give her a ring or drop her an email and she'll do what she can to help.

For the first time since I started the WP I feel like someone has actually listened to me as a person and not just a problem.

I've told them......3 times. I've had to get a sick note today from the Doc's, will be sending it tomorrow. I've turned up to the WP doped up to the eyeballs on painkillers, in agony, and it's just like banging your head against the wall. Even when I applied for ESA, and was told no heavy lifting, rest, etc the advisor knew all that and then told me there was a warehouse job waiting for me
they don't listen. Waste of time.

exactly. They simply do not listen. I've had the same thing: they know the issues, they ignore them. I was on JSA then, having since made an ESA claim, they weren't interested citing the 'rules': apparently if you are on JSA they can't listen to you and take no notice. If you claim ESA, which is what they said I should do, then apparently they can listen. How ridiculous is that? They aren't trained in any kind of health/mental health issue either way and have nothing to offer except bullying.
This is a story repeated right across the sector, but does the government listen? Nope, they just collect the money and these disgusting charities get richer.
