As a public sector worker, you should worship Gordon Brown.0 -
Nowhere near as many as there once was as most of the work now gets contracted out and self employed subbys like me do the work.
I get no contract, holiday pay, sick pay or pension.
maybe you should put a bit aside from your £100 quid call out fees and £50 half hour billsAlways remember that you're unique, just like everybody else:cool:0 -

Im a self employed subby so i dont choose what i charge unless its for private work and i dont have call out fees or charge by the hour.
You must be one of those people who agree to the hourly rate for work you need doing. Do yourself a favour and get a fixed price.
Im going to try and get a job in a supermarket as soon as i have bought a house as i will end up with more money in my pocket at the end of the week than i would do staying in the building game.
The firms around here are paying £80 a day top line at the moment in the areas i work in, stings a bit when ive got to spend a weeks wage on a new cordless drill.0 -
