    I've been Money Tipped!
I found bigish piece of grit, or rather my son did in a piece of sliced meat, I took it back and they went and lost the foreign object, nothing to test, check etc, here is a voucher for your trouble. Despite the fact that my son could have choked on the grit. He didn't but that's not the point. Got a letter back telling me that there was no foreign object or grit like substance for them to check. How convenient!!! Take it to the Environmental Health, NOT back to Tescos or Trading Standards or wherever, but NOT Tescos.

it might just turn out it was tescos poor attempt to make rocky road.

She could adopt it as a pet rock. And given it was found in ice-cream, she could call it Stone Cold Steve Austin.
  • I haven't found a Stone in my ice cream, but I did find two members of U2 in a Sandwich (I also found Bono in some dog food!)

So people who report things to Environmental Health will eventually "ruin" things?! Ruin what? I shudder to think where we'd be if nobody ever reported anything to Environmental Health and Trading Standards. I think you're on another planet.

See, this is the thing. People in EH and TS aren't psychic - they rely on members of the public reporting potential problems in order to take action. Yes, they may do test purchases and undercover operations, but this certainly won't pick up all the issues out there.
  • I'm the friend of the orignal message and would like to thank everyone for there positive and negative suggestions, I have decided to go with sending the item to the EH because this is serious stuff and I think that if I just went into Tesco that things would be reported but would any actions be taken..... that is the real question, at least I would of done my bit and reported it properly - thanks guys and girls
