jojo_2012, if you read properly you would see that I asked for people's opinions on this and I didnt actually buy him one. If by "The likes of me" you mean someone who can actually think about another human being and want to do something???? I pray that you never fall on hard times so that you dont have "someone like me" wanting to help in a tiny way.

People might not be allowed to sleep on the street, but as you can see it happens you moron, just because you are not allowed to do something doesnt mean you dont do it!!!! especially when you have no choice.

Anyway please go be sarcastic and unhelpful somewhere else, and Merry Christmas to you!!!

CATS - as per my PM - you are an awesome person. xx

I'm sure that he, along with the 1000's of homeless people have thought about just putting up a tent where they sleep in the street. They aren't waiting for the likes of you to come along and give them one.

Despite what you might see when looking at these 'occupy london' protests, people aren't allowed to just sleep on the streets of London. They get moved on regularly and don't need a tent slowing them down or making them more obvious to police.

Why don't you give them a camping stove and a hammock while you're at it :rotfl:

I think, at best, your post is sarcastic, unthoughtful, and very poorly worded.
  • Well, I've found that the best way to find out what someone really needs the most is just to ask them. No crates of Scotch, though. I suspect that a lot of the people regularly begging are often trying to raise enough funds for a hostel place for the night. I cannot conceive of what it might be like not have somewhere to bathe and have a clean change of clothes.

I was unsure as to what to get him, how to approach him and him just thinking I was plain mad!!! which I am sometimes :) hopefully the items will be of use to him.

Without wanting to sound mean, I think the problem you'll cause him is that if you buy him a tent plus sleeping bag he'll simply end up being robbed by another homeless person.

i was homeless and i got myself a tent and i was never robbed sorry but not all homless are thieves :mad:
Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you

Makes you wonder about the humanity and compassion of councils etc, people are homeless and the council won't house them in favor or asylum seekers but won't let them sleep in the street.

Where the hell are they supposed to sleep? it is like the council deny they exist and think they will drop off the planet if they sweep them away elsewhere.

We had a man who was called Gordon the Tramp, the story is he was a rich man and A) he either couldn't access his money or B) he lost the plot after his wife died, apparently he had been a doctor or lawyer I don't know if it is true but I wouldn't dismiss it straight away.

He used to sleep in the park and Mcdonalds would give him coffee, but he got so used to being attacked by people he would be aggressive if people approached at times but other times he was fine. Haven't seen him for years either he moved on or died :-( he was really well known and a part of the town.

yes, and there is another equally disgraceful post if you look back to the start.

you took the words straight out of my mouth. I also believe what goes round comes round -never look down on anyone unless you are helping them up.

CATS - if everyone thought like you have done the world would be a much better place.
