I understand all that - and I understand full well about statutory (or not, as the case is!). Which is why I said "on that basis" - the OP said that as Boxing Day falls on their BH so they have another day off (ie, a day in lieu), but now they're being asked to work it.
I made an assumption there 'on that basis', but agree we need to know if BHs are invluded in the AL entitlement. But seeing as the OP hasn't replied about that, I simply added to the conversation based on what was said!
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -

By that interpretation then yes, I would agree. But I didn't read what the OP said like that! But I think we have exhausted the subject unless the OP wants to answer the question that has now been asked repeatedly for three pages!0 -
Ive come to the conclusion it is more trouble than it's worth posting on this forum. I haven't been able to respond in a timely fashion because ive been at work or working on my pc. I don't know what my contract says because Ive recently moved and can't find it.Wow, I bet the OP feels so much better, after coming on here feeling frustrated at being made to work over Christmas (and not suprisingly so)..then being patronised and spoke to like a fool..
Oh my, some of you are nasty and bitter, aren't you? Urgh vile people

You don't need your contract, you just need to tell us how bank holidays work at your place. Do you get bank holidays off automatically if they're on a day you'd normally work, or do you have to book them off?0 -

I reckon you should get 2 days off then, one because you worked your rest day and one in lieu of the bank holiday.
Or maybe one day off plus overtime.0 -

Really - well most people who ask questions are interested enough to answer what they are asked and not be so completely rude about people trying to help them. It's a terrible shame you don't have time because you are working and busy - in case it hadn't occured to you so are the people whose time you are wasting asking questions that you don't answer and then slagging off for trying to help you despite your best efforts to stop them.0 -
