Did Apple ever call the iPad 3 the iPad 3?

Didn't they call it "The new iPad", with the 4th gen being called "iPad with retina display"?

iPad 3 is just known as the third generation iPad now, and it has been exiled to the refurb section on the Apple website. Apple tried to brush the major technical flaw under the carpet, releasing the iPad with retina display (the iPad 4 to most people) to mask the fact they screwed up the 4G in the previous model. Both have retina display.

Yes - the current iPad on general sale should be the 4th gen.

(But be double sure to check that it is a 4th gen and not a 3rd.)

Tesco currently have a £20 off £200 spend, which brings their iPads down in price. Plus double clubcard points

    Hi everyone,
This is my first post but I wanted to share some good deals I have found on iPads.

Zavvi and The Hut (both part of the same parent company) are selling iPad minis for £264.99 (Black 16GB) or £259.99 (White 16GB). Not a huge saving, but still a few bob cheaper than most retailers and includes free P&P.

If you were to use a cashback website on top of this such as Topcashback then you could claw a few extra pounds back.

Alternatively, you could try ValueBasket.com which has new iPad minis from £264.99 and free postage. Again you could use cashback sites to increase the saving. I would advise you read online reviews for ValueBasket though as they vary greatly with some very unhappy customers (but equally some happy customers) so you can make up your own mind on that one.

Finally, I'd highly recommend Flubit.com where you can copy/paste the URL of the product you want and they will get back to you within 48hrs with a better deal from one of their partner retailers. I opted for this route using the URL from ValueBasket and got offered an iPad mini for £236 (£33 off the RRP)

    Hope that helps.

There's a good offer on Ipad mini 32gb wi-fi only:

    Groupon £309
    www(dot)groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/ask-direct/23361652 (I can't post links as a new member)

If you buy via Top cashback they are currently offering 5.25% on Groupon buys

Many paypal users are currently receiving 5% cashback until the end of June and you can pay Groupon via paypal

If you use a cashback credit card on your paypal you'll get even more back.

I appreciate that Top cashback returns aren't guaranteed but the potential is up o 15% cashback in total.
  • I've just bought a brand new I-pad 2 16gb wi-fi only from a site on Amazon for £285 with free delivery. There were a couple of reviews saying these were reconditioned but I e-mailed the company direct and got an e-mail back assuring me they were not. All now received and they are indeed brand new. Happy to have saved even more money!
