Oh dear, even MSparks isn't amused.

(on reflection geneer's sucker punch has been pretty poorly received by those he thought might applaud)

Oh not. Not my best pal resident conspiracy theorist MSparks. Nooooooooooooooo!

On reflection...they appear to have taken it quite well.
    Congratulations
    This is big news, congrats.
Well done geneer, good timing. Hope you're enjoying the house.
    (Belated) congratulations.
A year and a half ago - that is excellent.

You have sky-rocketed in my estimation of
you, not least for having the self-restraint
not to say in your machinations with Columbo
    and pimpernel.

    Well done.
    Congrats! Belatedly, obviously.
Congrats geneer. Hope you won't quieten down now you have been a responsible home-owner for a few years.

But then thats how you'd expect more normal people to take the news that.....dum dum dahhhhhhhhhh...someone somewhere bought a house in the years following a Crash.

A bit of a shrug, and a heartfelt congratulations.

Nah. Its a bit to obvious to bother with a psychiatrist.

I suppose it is. You're disappointed that Hamish hasn't given this as much attention as you'd hoped. Am I right?

Could you go back and buy your house two months earlier? Christmas wasn't the best time to launch this plot; let's arrange if for last October.

Just pointing out that it's a really weird way that you've been spending your time and seeking fulfilment. In fact, it's probably one of the more tragic things I've seen on the internet.

Two years and 7500 posts. Crikey.

Errm, they're congratulating you on buying a house. That's what normal people do in general social interaction.

How many of them are congratulating you on keeping it a secret for 2 years? Is it the funniest thing they've ever seen? Hats off to a legendary jape etc.?

:rotfl:Actually Hamish was compelled to visit CC directly to bless me with a lovely congratulations.

And of course Hamish popped back, hung around for a bit reading my response, and decided that he'd rather excuse himself from further discussion.

And we all know what Hamish Ghosting away from a thread means, don't we? :)

I know that it's all relative but I'm feeling more and more well-rounded by the second.

Yes we do. It means your psychiatrist will have even more work to do dealing with the crushing rejection you feel.

    What rejection?
Even your wife can't drag you away from me.

In any event the inevitable degeneration to meaningless tit for tat, suggests that you now fully accept my homeowner status.
Congratulations. You are growing as a person.
You might want to have a word with RenovationMan. His process seems to be taking a bit longer.

    Touched a nerve?

Talk to your psychiatrist. Mention the hideous vacuum left as your cyber warrior friends got banned from the other cyber battlefields. Don't worry psychiatrists aren't there to judge.
