Haven't been on for a day or two, this cold has really knocked me off my feet. I have got a mouth inflammation too. I have seen the doctor and they can't explain why I have blisters in my mouth, other than a lowered immune system because of the cold. I haven't really been able to eat very well as any strong tastes or sharp food has really been hurting. So I have basically survived on soup and porridge for the past few days.

Today I am feeling much better. I haven't weighed myself this week because I feel quite bunged up everywhere, so I decided that I would carry on with the diet as best I can and weigh myself next week when hopefully I should be fully recovered.

Well done for all of your losses and chin up to those who didn't do as well as expected... just wanted to say that its the comments and camaraderie on this thread that keeps me on the straight and narrow, so thanks to you all xx

i cant resist stepping on scales every morning, my names claire and i am addicted to weighing myself LOL

    :D Me too.

Actually I find it easier to lose weight if I constantly weigh in. Apparently I have the attention span of a hyperactive toddler. If I don't weigh in every day I find myself kind of losing interest in losing weight and succumbing to cake ... or crisps, or chocolate, or well you get the idea.

Well, my eating habit has slowly improved. My body is aching in a good way from exercise and I jogged for longer than I thought possible.

    Quite proud of myself :D
Now to do this 3x a week

Been surfing, getting ready for when the cold has gone, and came across this:

    http://www.freeworkoutsguide.com/fatlossworkouts.html

Basically its a website full of free workouts and videos. Looks pretty cool and means you can change the routine a little. I like the idea of the tabata protocol where you work out intensively for 20 seconds then rest for 10 seconds then go onto a different exercise. I can imagine it would keep you on your toes and the workouts would never get boring.

Hi all, I weighed in at WW this morning and I've lost 4lbs, very happy!!

I find I can stick with it better if I know I can have a regular treat, so today I had a McD's happy meal, and counted it in my points. Need to step up the exercise now.

Well done everyone who's lost weight, and those that didn't lose don't be disheartened!!

  • Hi folks,
Hope your all well and a bit slimmer!!
Forgot to say in my last post that I actually abstained from alcohol at the weekend - don't know how I did it!!:rotfl: We're so used to drinking at the weekend, but hubby was away so thought I'd give it a try and it wasn't that bad - one day at time LOL. Anyway he may be away again this weekend so I might try again!!!
Did succumb to three pieces of shortbread though yesterday and one this morning but on the plus side went to gym Mon and Wed and going tomorrow so hopefully that will have got rid of those.
Oh Kazipoo you are in the wars - you sound really run down - are you taking vitamins? - you sound like you need building up! Hope ur on the up soon.:)
I'm a daily weigher and I've stayed same all week so am getting a bit worried - as long as it doesn't go on that's the main thing.
I do find it harder because of my thyroid but apparently if I keep the exercise up eventually my metabolism should speed up - thats the theory anyway - anybody any thoughts on this or am I deluding myself!!!!:rotfl:
Anyway keep trying everyone bit by bit we will do it.

I couldn't resist it... I jumped on the scales this morning and I have lost another 5lb :j so total loss so far is 11lb. I will weigh in again on Monday so that I am back to my normal day.

Soooooo chuffed with myself, because I have been poorly I have been feeling very heavy so really didn't think I would have lost.

Gollymissus, I know where you are coming from, I have an underactive thyroid and it is a right royal pain in the bum to lose weight... I think you have to be extra strict with yourself for sure, and I have also tried to start my day with protein because apparently it kick starts your metabolism at twice the speed, so sometimes I have had 2 slices oaty or wholewheat toast with a poached egg for brekkie, just to give me a boost. Also, according to weight watcher vintage points, for my weight etc I can have a fair few points on a daily basis, but I haven't been using them all. Having said that, I am eating very well. Yesterday for example I had 2 weetabix with sugar and skimmed milk for brekkie, two ww wholemeal toast (no spread), a poached egg and two spoons of baked beans for lunch, followed by a weetabix bar (lovely if you need a sweet hit) and mince and mash with veggies for my tea.

Because I have such a sweet tooth I always have low fat sweet stuff on hand to munch on like weetabix bars, chewee bars, sugar free jelly or angel delight for a desert. This is the reason I get on with weight watchers so well, because I am not limited (except by points) to what I can and can't eat.

Once I get rid of this cold (hopefully after the weekend) I will start with the bootcamp exercise routines from the website I found yesterday, so hopefully they will help burn the fat and make me feel altogether more healthy.
