Angry at treatment from vet!

I've heard the highest suicide rate is amongst Vets. They must see some of the worst parts of humanity in the neglect and abuse of animals. In which case, they either create a very hard shell or give up.
I'm sorry for your loss, pets are family and it's a truly awful thing to go through.i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour0 -
Don't know what to say, other than I'm very sorry for the loss of your beloved pet. xStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

Thank you everyone! I'm feeling a little nostalgic this evening, looking at old pictures of her!
I shall still send the letter, I know it's not an easy job to do, I for one couldn't do it, but it costs nothing to show a little sympathy.
I know she had a good life and all my kids will miss her greatly from the eldest at 25 to my youngest at 11(who broke his poor little heart). We have our happy memories and that's what we have to keep us going.
Once again, a big thank you to all of you.... :A0 -
Sorry to hear about your cat, it always feels like such a loss. As someone said, vets must see and hear some awful things, I couldn't do their job. Just remember, your cat had a long and happy life, better than some poor animals. Just a thought, when you have had time to come to terms with your loss there are some cats out there that really need the kind of love that you seem able to give, you can't replace the one you have just lost but you can help to make another cat a part of your family0

We've already discussed the possibility of getting another cat in the new year. And it too will be as loved and looked after as Molly was!0 -
Maybe the vet is like that as that's the way he distances himself from his actual job. I know if I was putting down puppies and cats everyday I'd not like to get attatched to the animal or get involved eith the owner either.0

I wouldn't take it personally, my sister is a vet nurse and she said most vets that she has worked with are a bit lacking in compassion. It comes with the territory I suppose - you get de-sensitized to such things when you deal with it day in day out.
Not all vets. Years ago I did some work experience at a veterinary surgery and they were compassionate to the owners.
One time though, a woman who ran a small rescue centre in her home for dogs brought one in because she couldn't handle him any more as he chewed everything. She said the only thing that could be done is put him down as she couldn't find anyone to rehome him.
Normally a vet nurse helps but the vet shooed everyone out the room and did it on his own and looked a little unhappy. One of the other vet nurses looked upset as well probably because this dog was healthy0 -
So Sorry for your loss.0

Feeling much better when I got up this morni g! That was until I looked at the receipt from the vets, they've charged us £12 + vat for cremation! We bought her home!! I rang them and they apologised and said you'll have to come back up to get a refund to your card! I wouldn't mind but we live a good 10 mile round trip from them! I'm really annoyed....0

Sorry for your loss, dreading the day when it comes for my old cat too, 14 atm. Think of the good times, and know that you gave her a good home and life.
Give yourself time to write a letter of complaint. So that your emotions aren't high at the time of writing.
I often wonder at my old cat getting a wee bit lame, but then when i see her chasing mice or running downstairs at breakfast time, I know there's not much wrong with her.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
