we specifically asked for a corner sofa for a particular way,(not in writing) what was delivered is apparently left hand facing, on the receipt this is written in like a long code jumbled up letters and numbers, what we have asked for must be a right hand facing, which would be some other jumbled up code ,and in small print says as displayed, like i say i didnt check the receipt at the point of sale, this guy seemed to know what he was doing .
Is there a similar 'long code jumbled up letters and numbers' on the product anywhere?
I am trying to establish whether they have delivered the goods described on the order form. If they have, then it is the salesman's fault, and as I said earlier, you are entitled to rely on his skill as an expert to get it right.
Whatever these 'long code jumbled up letters and numbers' say, clearly the firm are at fault.
Get writing that letter.0 -
thanks for your help will get writing and keep you all posted0

They call them technicians, I should imagine really all they want is for a representative of their company, or a trusted partner, to view the goods as delivered to see that they are defective as you describe. At the moment they only have your word that the sofa and swivel chair are not as described.
You sound a bit angry and incredulous which is making your posts hard to follow, stick to the facts! Sadly its not unusual for furniture companies to get stuff wrong.
The fact they are sending someone round is a positive thing, be polite to them, show them the faults with the fabric, demonstrate how the sofa clearly doesn't fit and it is not what you entered into an agreement for.0 -
Oh and the thing with the insurance may well turn out to be a moot point, if you send them back you are going to be in the opposite situation of not needing that insurance. So sort out this first issue of getting the goods that you actually ordered, then worry about the insurance.0

had the technician round which paul simon selected independantley, he had a good look and noted everything down , said he was going to file a report which my partner sign saying that we get a full refund or that paul simon exchange the furniture for the correct furniture , yippee or so i thought !!!! spoke to paul simon customer services they still are refusing to do that ,,,,,,,, saying thats what we ordered , asked for a copy of the report already knowing what it says , the refused on the grounds that we never paid fo the tecnician so we can not have a copy laugh out bloody load ha ha can you believe that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

:mad::mad::mad: going to court !!!!!!!
regarding an earlier post about a corner sofa and cuddle chair ordered from thier store in orpington .
i have no option but to take paul simon to court.
they appointed an indipendant furniture technician as they call it from a company called homeserve , he came around had a look took a lot of notes, and wrote out a report stating exactly what i have been asking for right from the start, either a full refund or replace the furniture after reading the report my partner signed , however she never got a copy !!.
paul simon have have ticked the box on the claim form that they intend to defend all of the claim !!
need some help here as cannot afford a solicitor and gonna have to go it alone as i wont be bullied by a big chain !!
was thinking of involving the media what are your thoughts
