Harpic power tablets... fantastic things.. failing that.. an old knife and scrape it off!!!

Ours was ghastly when we moved in, the whole house I swear had not been cleaned for 100 years.. it was NASTY!!! Took 3 tablets and half a bottle of harpic and a screwdriver to get it clean! Looks beautiful now though.. or it would if DS1 cleaned the vomit off and DH learned to clean his own slicks!!! lol

the sink I fill with really hot water and add some starfrops.. clean my worksurfaces and units and pull the plug.. rinse away the grit from cleaning eveyrthing else and run the scrubby round the sink.. *twinkle!!*

Another one that my Nana uses but I haven't tried is denture tablets! I use them for cups/mugs but she used to pop them down the loo and hers was always gleeming!
One day I might be more organised...........

Also what is the best thing for cleaning toilets? I have just moved into a new place and it looks like the poeple before me never used to flush the toilet! It now has a nasty looking yellow mark round the bottom where the water mark is. I have been bleeching and scrubbing it every night but it still looks the same! Anyone any ideas?

Try a cheap bottle of coke - that normally gets rid of most things!

I use tesco or sainsbury's toilet limescale remover....not very good for the environment I know but the onlt thing I can get to work. Tried the coke trick, vinegar, and the harpic tabs, but the only thing that removed it was the toilet limescale remover. Leave overnight and then use toilet brush to give it a good scrub and hey presto.... clean loo.
I find buffing the sink with the tea towel , which after wards goes in the wash, works a treat
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

  • i used harpic 100% limescale remover

bottom of my loo was horrid too used some of that over night twice and it just fell off(the yuck not the toilet)

now just top up with cheep and nasty morrisons stuff
