Im with sky for broadband and phone only, £12.25 a month for line rental and £10.00 a month unlimited broadband. The only other cheaper provider is plusnet but the 10gb a month package is severly traffic managed.

You may be on an old sky broadband package which is why they have said it would be £26 a month. So i would phone back and see what they say.

Plus on a bt stream product you will get slower speeds.
    In Progress!!!

If you are already on a Sky LLU line then you'll find it difficult, if not impossible, to take your line direct to another LLU supplier, you'll need to do a return to donor to BT for an initial 12m line rental first. Once that is done you can set up your broadband with your preferred supplier.

Thanks for this info. I didnt realise that was the case. Im suprised more people arent reporting problems migrating as im sure lots are affected. I guess its sky for me then!

thanks for info but i think primus is also cheaper (see post 7) but probably similar problems to plusnet

Am thinking i might try and stick with sky for linerental and broadband alone. I didnt know i could do this til one of the original repliers told me so I rang a few days ago and they've offered me sky unlimited broadband with evening and wkend calls for just the price of line rental for 12 months. I said i'd think about it whilst they investigate my line speed....:D
Im not sure if the rep was right and this is definitely what they'd give me but I got her to clarify twice and she said shes put a note against my account. I'll check again if/when i push the button on it.

With a 43 db line you should be syncing at around 8 mbps. It would appear that Sky may have capped your connection due due a noisy line sometime ago.

Could you repeat the test whilst plugged into your mater test socket, this will eliminate any internal wiring problems you may have.

    Post the results.
