I've been stung with this too, not impressed at all. Yes we should all read the terms and conditions but it's not a good way to treat customers!

Isn't the problem that Amazon are not being sneaky/scamming/underhand? They are more than willing to refund.
Surely the problem lies with adults who are too afraid to admit that they are not net savvy, or lack simple common sense, or are symptomatic of a society where someone else is to blame? You can be a rocket scientist and not know how to wire a 3-pin plug....The man without a signature.0 -
I'm a bit worried now. I just made my first ever purchase from Amazon and stupidly ticked I understood the T&Cs...without reading them.
I paid for delivery though and have to wait 5 working days for it, so can I assume I haven't signed up for this Prime thing? I wasn't given the option for free next day delivery at all.0 -

If you are getting free supersaver delivery (which the 5 day time scale would appear to suggest) then, no, you have not signed up to a trial with Amazon Prime.There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

I can't see how people can sign up to Prime without realising it, as you have to tick a box if you want to sign up for it.
But, I also make sure I read everything, at every stage of the checkout process, to make sure that I'm getting the free supersaver delivery and not paying for delivery.0 -

To all interested posters,
I'm pleased to say, I received an email and instructions on how to cancel prime as there were no further purchases from Amazon. I did this and I have received another email telling me my cancellation has been acknowledged and will be refunded to my account in a few days. This topic has become a discusion of T&Cs, and no I don't read all the terms and conditions of every website and especially not of reputable companies like Amazon as this was my first online purchase. If I were to purchase from M&S a High Street store with a similar reputation would I be handed their T&Cs, NO. My complaint is not an isolated one therefore on can only conclude the marketing style of some 'even reputable companies' is not always !s crystal clear as some posters are suggesting, and especialy with irregular online purchasers, therefore, infrequent online purchasers should Be aware and proceed with caution as online stores can use cunning marketing procedures.0
