For new installs it pays to take the phone as this gets a free install and counts as a bundle on cashback sites which are rather woolly on whether BB only will qualify. It only costs ~ £3pm more than without it so the £36 first year cost is easily outweighed by those two and you can cancel it after that without penalty (assuming 12 month contract).
If you actually use the landline then the £9pm for anytime calls isn't competitive - Vonage VOIP costs £5.99 and gives free callerid (£2 from VM if you can get it at all) + other features such as blocking calls with no callerid.0
