I don't really understand facebook, so cannot advise on that. I do enter twitter competitions and I think some people just retweet blindly without checking if a winner has already been announced, which means they retweet some that are already over. I don't know of any sort of twitter bot that retweets for them, I just think they are quite quick at doing it, but perhaps someone knows better than me.0

hi folks, as a bloke i tend to limit my entries to comps on certain sites but wondered out of interest how others decide?? i admit im not too keen on publicity tho i expect in some cases a big prize would warrant more than publicizing your name/initials! i initially didnt do any radio comps as im a big fearedy cat and dont wanna stumble my way through a sentence live on air lol! ive steered clear of womens sites like cosmopolitan as im not sure A: if they`d give prizes to men, and B: publicity lol! do men enter on womens sites much? also i stay clear of sites for mums, parents etc as i felt it`s targetting them tho sometimes they do have comps for stuff i`d like! am i thinking too much regarding these lol!!??Comping Life- wake up in morning, get excited about postie comin, bit more excited as u check emails 1st time, get deflated NO wems!,get more deflated as postie brings junk, enter comps,go to work, wonder if delivery vans brought a surprise!,come home nope no surprises!,check again for wems nope still disappointed!,enter more comps, time for bed,REPEAT!0

I've had my photo taken twice - once for a holiday and once for a bundle of electricals. I have never seen either photo published anywhere.0

I think you're over-analysing. I enter based on (1) what I want to win and (2) how secure the site is. As a female, I enter comps on GQ,Esquire etc.0

I only ever enter competitions for prizes which my family or I can make some use of. Some on the other hand enter everything and maybe just sell the prizes if they win.
As for parenting and sites aimed a females, I entered a "Scrummy Mummy" competition last month because the prize was a huge Thornton's Easter Egg. I won too so that egg's just sat about saying, "Eat Me" in the kitchen;)Won since 12/12/13:0 -
I was always a bit of a wimp about publicity comps and tended to steer clear of any "on air" comps. However, last dec I entered a comp on capital that was partly on air, partly website winners. I was chosen to go on air and was terrified. It was one of the highlights of my year.
Not only did I win some fab prizes, the dj's were lovely. At the time I was at the end of my first pregnancy and was being speedily induced due to some concerns so it proved a wonderful distraction from a scary and worrying time so please don't ever be put off.
In general, I enter comps for things I want or know I can give to someone I care about!0 -
I don't do on air ones, as due to work etc I'm probably not going to be available at the relevant times.
I don't do twitter as I have no idea how it works. Ditto blogs.
I only enter baby/family ones if I have friends or relatives who I know I could give the prizes to, and I don't enter competitions aimed at children. Or things like signed prizes aimed at proper fans.
Other than that, it's pretty much fair game, I'll enter anything, mens or womens- a mixture of ones I'd like to win for myself, and I'll enter if I think I can ebay a prize if I have no-one to give it to. I know some people frown on that, but tbh if the company is doing it for publicity, most of them don't give a stuff and I could do with the money.
I'm not that bothered if the prizes are big or small (although the itv ones would be very nice!) I just like seeing what arrives and the excitement of opening it. I'm easily pleased.:DAll shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I like the killer ones - do you want to know how to do it, or shall I try to work out the answer - won't get chance till tomorrow.
If you're not sure how to do it, start off with the easy ones.
3 in the top left corner, with only 2 boxes the numbers have to be 1 and 2. Or 2 and 1 as you don't yet know which way round to put them.
4 has to be 1 and 3
17 has to be 8 and 9 (or 9 and 8!)
16 has to be 7 and 9.
Then you work out which way round the numbers are by cross-referencing with other blocks of 9 if possible.
So 6 could be 5 and 1 or 4 and 2. You decide which by seeing if you've already used those numbers in that row or box.
Or if you've got 7 across 3 boxes, then it has to be 1,2, and 4. The harder bit is working out the order to put them in which is the process of elimination.
That's probably clear as mud, I'm not good at explaining.
So looking at the top left 9 squares:
3 has to use 1 and 2
17 has to use 8 and 9
So the box with 8 (which could be 7 and 1, 6 and 2 or 5 and 3) has to be 5 and 3 because you've already used 1 and 2.
Ditto with 11 which could be 9 and 2, 8 and 3, 7 and 4, 6 and 5. As you've already used 2,3 and 5, that only leaves 7 and 4.
So the bottom right hand box with the number 22 in it has to be a 6 because it's the only number you've got left. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
