While getting some sneaky comping time in at work (shh!) I typed in "MSE competitions" into Google as a quick way of getting to the boards.
The top link was for MSE, but the second link was this - http://www.msecompetitions.co.uk/
Not only does it use the MSE name (and written with really poor English and grammar), but also has the cheek to use a pic of Martin and link to a YouTube video of him talking about Adult Learner's Week, as if trying to pass off his affiliation with the site0 -
Have you sent a link to the admin team? They'd probably like to know about it.0

I posted the following HERE in weekliesThe EASY PLANTS artificial tree weekly is terminated. This is one of the longest running weeklies around - orginally posted by kipper almost exactly 5 years ago. It is the first comp in post #1 under the specific day comps.
Easyplants have been bought by Giftsandplants - see HERE - and I can't see any comps on their site.
Sad to see it go.0 -

Update On Puzzle Weekly – Hi all, just letting you know Puzzle Weekly Issue 6 is still not showing online. Issue 7 was due out Tuesday and there was no sign of it in Asda or Tesco. My OH went into town again today, had a look in Asda, WHSmith, Tesco and a couple of newsagents but could only see Issue 6 in Asda which was strange because Issue 6 wasnt even there yesterday. Ive had no reply to my emails or the letter I sent with the Issue 2 entry form either.
I dug out the Prize Puzzles magazine today and found a telephone number for subscriptions and have rang today to enquire whether Puzzle Weekly is still published and to see if I could buy a subscription and was kept on hold for a while for the lady to say they don't do subscriptions for it and she couldnt help. I asked her if she had another phone number that I could ring and was told quite blunty no!
There were 2 telephone numbers for Advertising Sales and Promotions in the mag which I rang but no one answered either calls. I shall try again tomorrow and see if I can shed anymore light onto the situation. In the meantime if anyone does find Puzzle Weekly Issue 7 and wants to do the puzzles and post the answers thats fine by me, you wont be stepping on my toes. Not sure when or if they will put up the online entry form though. In the meantime I shall keep trying to find it. Prize Puzzles is out in 2 weeks hopefully that mag will still be going.

I'm not really sure if this is the right place for me to post this, but I just wanted people's opinions on whether it's really worth entering Facebook competitions, especially those where the entry requirement is to "like" and "share" a page and/or link/image?
I'm fairly new to comping - having started a few months ago and to date I've had 3 or 4 wins, however none of those have been from Facebook or twitter. As I've got more involved in comping, I've started to recognise that there is a huge community on Facebook. I've tried my hand at it a little but to be honest it makes me feel a little disillusioned when I see so many like and share comps, and a lot of the same names winning.
I don't begrudge the winners at all and am genuinely pleased for them, but I feel that to have any chance at all in winning any of these, I would have to put in hours of work, which as a mum of 3 children under 3 is impossible! Either way I've decided to stick to website/email/app competitions as I'm quite fond of sitting down in the evening and working through them a couple of days before the end date. I just wanted to gage people's opinions of this.
Thanks in advance!0 -
Sorry just one quick question - I'm new to entering twitter competitions but I am following a few people who enter them on there (Not from this site). I find it a bit weird why they are retweeting old competitions that are already over and the space between each of their tweets is really small. I'm not accusing anyone of cheating on twitter but it is a bit suspicious. Could it be possible some people are using some ind of auto tweet to win?“You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”
