  • Hi years ago I use to comp regularly and have won loads of stuff, I gave it up as have had no fixed/regular address, but now I do and I have been comping like mad for the last 3 weeks, I have been doing around 300-500 comps a week, I used to make a few quid by doing e**y but they have banned me(not my fault) and as I have always earnt a few pounds through that and surveys it was enough, do you or does anyone think it is possible to comp as a part time job, ie sell items you dont want, win cash prizes, I know it is all luck of the draw, but years ago you use to hear about people who had all of lifes luxurys for free, obviously not free because you have to put a lot of time and effort into it, I am looking to spend around 3 hours a day, would be interested in your views and successess, thankyou.:j

if you prepared to work this hard to win a competition and sell the goods for a tax free profit... why not go to work?
  • I'm not lazy, I have several things wrong with me and am looking to generate some extra income and do something which I enjoy.

Not the sort of comment advice I was looking for.:(

A few years ago, maybe, but ive noticed a big drop in winnings over the last couple of years, so unless you were really lucky, or had one particulaly big win, i think you would struggle to even make part time wages.

I enter thousands of comps a week, but some weeks (like this one) i dont win a single thing.

I would add, there are so many people entering now (you can see by how many people are now on this board, and there are loads more comp sites around) the odds really have gone down.

I have been spending several hours a day entering competitions (as well as having a 30 hour a week job) and have won nothing at all, so I wouldn't recommend it as a way of making a living. I also noticed the other day that someone who posted on this Forum had been doing it for 7 months and hadn't won anything! Maybe it's down to which competitions you choose to enter, but I think it's probably worth looking at an alternative method of earning some money.

Sorry if this is not the answer you are looking for.

By the way, I think you were supposed to post this on the Discussions thread, not this one.

Same here, I do about 3 hrs a day on average but I don't win that much compared the amount of effort I put in! We won a large holiday yesterday but that is not going to pay the bills.

  • you could make a few quid selling what you win but its certainly not guaranteed i make a nice extra income of ebay which took me years to do my research and it has paid off i just enter comps for things for me and my lovely family

Ha Ha....I wished.....I could never win enough to pay for things (bills, food, etc).
    For me it's purely a hobby which I enjoy. If I win...then that's a bonus. Good Luck!
