Competitions Discussion Thread Part 16

I enter pretty much every comp on there, have been comping for just over a year. I do sell on some bits, but I def don't make much cash! Maybe £50 here and there and have had a few small cheques. I also build up a stash of bits for the kids Xmas and birthdays. I can't work, I have four children to look after, one of whom is disabled.

I do it for the experiences I get that I never would have done otherwise. We had a fab xmas hol - won tickets to rugby, ballet, a show, a panto. The kids have had all sorts of experiences from visiting Disney HQ, to ice skating with penguins! Last month I went to the Superbowl in Indianapolis (and flew business class). Last night I was at Hans Klok's Houdini show, and Sunday I am going for a training session with Karen Pickering in the Olympic swimming venue.

So I think I have been amazingly lucky. Last year my total value of prizes was about £5,000 plus the Superbowl trip was worth about £10k. But it def does NOT pay the bills! It does though give us a bit of a better lifestyle! Though it prob helps to live near to London, as so many of the tickets are for London venues.

Does anyone know if the Take a Break Series Spring 1 2012 has been posted yet? I have searched everywhere I think it may be and cannot find it - the closing date is 9th April 2012

I have checked the TAB puzzle thread and the postal thread as well.

Hi all

I know this is a daft question but I genuinely don't know the answer:

For Now and Look competitions, where it says daily, does it mean that they're giving the prize away daily, so there is one up for grabs each day the comp is open, or is it that there is one prize (or more when specified) for the entire duration, but you can enter daily so end up with 30ish entries, IYSWIM?

If you comp via MSE you should be reasonably sure as to the validity of the sites.
We tend to get very few "dodgy" sites posted & they are soon commented on.

LOL was just thinking the same, Love entering comps, chatting, making friends and occassionally winning gifts for family, friends that we wouldn't have brought but it is getting harder and harder to win. Good Luck :beer:

wouldnt advise trying to make money at it, I do it purly as a hobby. If I enter most competitions on here and either keep them or give to friends and family, or if no one wants it I give to charity shops.

I enter competitions as a hobby, i work full time and have al14 month old boy to look after, i have been very lucky over the last few years, but have noticed that wins have dwindled, and yes i do sell prizes that i dont want/need, and put the money i make towards holidays and things for my little boy, the way i look at it is i put the effort in and if im lucky to win its up to me what i do with the prize, i know some people get angry that people sell their wins but each to their own, good luck
