My Twitter has sent out several messages saying "This users uses blah-blah twit verifer." Is this an automated thing, or have I been hacked?
(Told you I'm a bit vague on Twitter!)

Update - I'm sorry - there is no Sunday Times iPad 2 hourly competition today. I got it wrong by misunderstanding what the paper said last week.

Sorry to get everyone's hopes up.
Thanks anyway, SueMaggie. And thanks again for posting the competition last week - I love my iPad!
Started comping for 2012. Won: iPad 2 - thanks SueMaggie; 10,000 Tesco Clubcard Points - thanks Maybe1; HABA Terra Kids Construction Set - thanks purplevamp.

I've got a suggestion for Twitter competitions but wasn't sure where to put it!

I see lots of competitions on Twitter which are like "flash" competitions - i.e. RT by 3:00 today or 6PM today etc. There's a few regular posters who add some of these to the boards here but the urgency for entering can get lost amongst all the other posted competitions.

What if we had one thread like the regular magazine threads, just for Twitter competitions ending that day (not a new thread every day though, just one that ran on and on - call it something like "Twitter Competitions Ending Today") and then it would get bumped back up regularly with new competitions added to it and would be an easy place to find these flash competitions.

Twitter competitions with a longer lead time could be posted individualy as normal.

Is this something worth pursuing and if so, do I need to contact someone for permission to start such a thread?

That's what I was thinking - most of the twitter comps are pointless being posted on here, as they have usually ended before most people even see them. Some only last a couple of hours. There should be absolutely NO chat on it though, as this would defeat the object.
  • I agree, I've been going through the comps posted that day at about lunchtime every day for a couple of months now, but it's a hassle on top of all the others. One thread to bookmark and subscribe to would be a much better idea.

    brilliant idea :T:T

i think you just have to start the thread like on the puzzler.com updated reg thread

if it was to be a sticky then AFAIK you'd have to ask a BG, but,
AFAIK if it's just going to be a reg thread that everyone can put thier twitter comps on you can do it yourself,
if i'm wrong am sure someone will come along to say so :D:rotfl:

Oh that's great. I wasn't thinking about making it a sticky, just a normal thread that could be added to by anyone who spots a quick Twitter comp.

I'll start the thread as soon as I spot one (but in the meantime if someone else finds a suitable comp to kick it off, feel free to start it) - if it's breaking any rules I'm sure I'll find out quickly enough! :D
