Son drank half a bottle of red food colouring?!

He'll be fine
.
If anyone wanted to know, the six colourings that have to carry the warning "May have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children" are:
Sunset Yellow E110
Quinoline Yellow E104
Tartrazine E102
Allura Red E129
Ponceau 4R E124
Carmoisine E122
AKA the "Southampton Six". But as you've found that doesn't mean they WILL be hyper if they eat something containing these or any colouring, it's down to the individual child/person just like with anything else they eat.0 -
E133 affects my youngest too, but not the eldest. It seems to vary from child to child, with most kids I know not reacting to any of them in the slightest. Reactions can't be common, or they wouldn't put E104 or E102 in antibiotic syrup for children!
angie-baby it sounds like he's okay anyway
