Quick update before finishing making tea.
Had a good chat with OH last night about how i'm feeling over whelmed with everything and that everything feels out of control (not good for a control freak), I now realise I need to stop looking at everythng at once at break it down into smaller chunks.
So today I've unpacked 2 boxes out of the garage, ok there is still lots of things to unpack but i've done 2 boxes, found homes for the items, packed item i want to keep into a smaller box to put in the loft and I feel bettter for it.
Oh has put up new light fitting in front room and fixed the flue pipe on the wood burner so we can now light a fire:D.
I need to keep looking at whats been achieved and not what hasn't yet.
I've put a chicken in the oven for tea, going to have it with rst spuds, stuffing, leeks in cheese sauce and carrots, was going to make a apple crumble, but the apples are ok for a few more days and I had loads of cream that needed using, so i've made rice pudding instead so it doesn't go to waste.
I've also managed a NSD, have done a couple of surveys and walked the dogs on the beach, also took a couple of bags for life with me and got the kids to fill them with bits of drift wood, have put them in the green house to dry and I can then burn them on the wood burner:).0 -
Sounds like a very productive day Penny.
We've got a woodburner but have never used it - this could be the winter!!
Surveys are going very slowly here, could really do with a payout:(.Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs
One Poll: £3.20
My Survey: £0.00
Ebay: £0.000 -
Oohhh pennywise loving the sound of walking the dogs on the beach! Have you moved far from the old house?
Dont put yourself under too much pressure! Although that said I am good at giving the advice but not so good at taking it myself!!
Have a lovely roast xxMummytogirls x0 -
Thanks PWD and mummy.
PWD get that wood burner lit, there is nothing like a winters evening when its blowing a hooowly outside and your snuggled up in front of it.
Mummy we have moved far enough, the beach is fab and great for walking the dogs and the kids love looking for shells, crabs and climbing the rocks.0 -
Noticed a draft coming under the front room door that leads out to the hallway last night, so i've found some old curtains today that can be turned into a draught excluder, might start that job tonight whilst watching Downton.0

So I spent yesterday evening making a draught excluder, its worked really well and looks ok:).
Decided it made sense to do my shopping this afternoon on my way home from work as i'm passing the store, otherwise it would mean me doing it later int he week and I would have to pick kids up from school and then drive 4 miles there and back.
So nipped to sainsbugs, spent £32 but has a £6 off £30 spend so in total spent £26, but have bought some things for work so will get £7 back from work tomorrow, so a weeks shop has cost me £19.
Got back to find i had won £5 in the gfk prize draw so have redeemed a £5 amazon voucher, will use it towards a christmas present.
Gone chilly this afternoon, so i've lit the wood burner stop us putting the CH on later;).
Tea to make shortly, making a chicken and leek pie from the left over rst chicken.0 -
Morning Pennywise,

Hi mummy, the pie was lovely.
Work is busy busy, but i'm loving it for a change.
So today i've paid min payments to barclaycard and next.
I've cleaned the bathroom, kitchen and living room, tomorrow i will hoover stairs and kids room and sort a pile of paperwork in the dining room.
Gave the kids tuck shop money - 50p each.
Spag bol for tea tonight and enough left over for OH lunch tomorrow.
Nothing else to declare - very boring life.0 -
Today has been NSD and have no other news.
