Glad you are feeling better Penny :)

You have had a busy few days and you will be up to your eyes in flour by the end of the week too. Its lovely to get the family together for the kids party. Enjoy yourself today. Sounds like a really pleasant day out and try not to think of money too much. :)

    Take care

  • DD had a lovely evening, bless her she seems so grown up:(, where has my baby gone, £72 spent which i didn't think was too bad.

Nothing to update on the moneyfront, still no bids on ebay and really struggling to find many things to list, have a few summer items but there is no point in listing them yet.

Found some sausage meat in one freezer and i'm sure i have some puff pastry stashed away in the other freezer, so need to dig that out and will make sausage rolls for tea, will have them with sauteed potatoes and veg, could also do with sorting tins cupboard and making a bit of a meal plan for next week when back at work, must make some soup today as well.

DH is now ill and full of snot, he has gone to work, he is off this weekend so can rest then, but don't think we will go swimming if he is still feeling ropey, have to say i'm very lucky in the fact my OH doesn't do the whole man flu thing, if he stays off work due to illness i know he really is ill and can only remember him taking time off work twice once when he had a really bad stomach bug and then when he had the snip.

Plans for today - cook, walk dog, drop DS at a party, try to get kids to do some homework:eek:, make some craft things with DD that she got for birthday whilst DS is at party.
  • Found pastry and 2 loaves of bread and 2 part baked baquettes, so looks like i can get away with not buying bread next week:D.

Sorted cupboard with tinns in i have 12 tins of peaches and 15 large cartons of passata , tomato and lentil soup it is then:rotfl:, bags and bags of pasta and rice. So i've done a quick meal plan -

Today - HM sausage rolls, sauteed potatoes and veg.
    Fri - Jkts,cheese and beans.
Sat - Chicken curry and rice.
sun - Rst pork, rst pots and veg.
Mon - left over pork, mash and veg.
    Tue- Pasta bake
Wed - sausage casserole, jkt and veg.
    Thurs - Egg and chips.
Fri - sweet and sour Chicken and rice.

Items in red are what i need to buy at the weekend, just chicken then, do need to get ham and crisps as well for pack ups and will also need fresh fruit middle of next week as i have a big bag of apples and oranges in the fridge and the fruit bowl is full at the minute. Will bake some cakes for lunchboxes and for OH to take to work rather than bought biccies.

  • Good morning, been up with the lark doing housework:eek:, dropped DD at the stables for pony club camp day so that has relieved me of £45.

Money front is still the same, no ebay sales, surveys no where near payout and its 10 days until pay day:(.

After dropping DS at party yesterday i called into Tesco for butter and they had bags of their individual bread rolls from the bakery bagged up in fours and priced at 10p a bag, got 5 bags, have put some in the freezer and left 2 bags out, one of the bags had bagels in so the kids had those for brekkie, nice and cheap and they loved them,DS and I will be having left over HM soup and bread roll for lunch, love cheap meals makes me feel all warm inside knowing i've got a bargain:D.

Hope evryone has a good day.
  • Well done on the bread roll score, Penny :-). I really should be looking out for bargains like that! I tend to make a bee-line for the baking aisle, ignore all the ingredients and stock up on the pretty £2 a pop decorations, in the hope that one day soon I will get around to making the most delicious, spectaular cake ....... Once again, a girl can dream Xx

Another no no for me is Hobbycraft ....... I tend to come over all weak and swoony when I enter the store and they always take my pennies away from me :-(. Princess (6) is worse ...... She very visibly lights up when she enters and proceeds to dance and twirl around the store in a very ballerina type fashion ........ Needless to say, my purse is considerably lighter when we leave.

What do they say? Like Mother, like Daughter .............. I thinks we MUST keep away, at least for a reasonable amount of time :-)

Shame about the money front today ....... Did you not find a couple of pennies squirreled away under the sofa during your house working mission? I've often been found on my hands and knees digging underneath, looking for the elusive penny or two x

    Enjoy your day Xxx

  • Hi Enchanted and welcome to my diary.

Luckily i don't have a hobbycraft close to where i live, DD is very crafty and loves making jewellery and cards etc.

No money found today, but might be spending some more yet feel like painting a room and its a toss up between the bathroom and kitchen.

If you feel like painting do it Penny. When you are in the mood for it you can do it twice as quick. :)

  • Hi Penny, wondered if you had managed to paint one or both :) of your rooms yet?

My kitchen, desperately needs a lick of paint. Princess is in the habit of overflowing the bathroom sink, making up all kinds of weird concoctions, with my lotions and potions. Last week Mr W had to poke a knife in the celing of the kitchen to let the avalanche of water come through ....... I thought it was never going to stop! Needless to say, we were not very happy with Princess :-( now it needs to be repaired somehow.

Hope enjoy the last day of half- term :-)
