CRB information and wrongful arrest / information held

Someone I know was arrested and fined in court for possession of cannabis, however, he was open and upfront about it and got his security clearance and got \ job at the very top of the echelons of power. .
Fair enough, they did something and got caught in "possession of".
I was never in "possession of". FACT.0 -
But no-one asks if you've ever been arrested...they ask if you have been convicted - and you haven't!
Look at SG's scanned CRB
Police record of Convictions, Cautions, Reprimands and Warnings.
Not ARRESTS
So it WON'T SHOW
I'm not doubting that isn't his scanned CRB, but take a look at Google images, it could be anyone's!

the headings are the same on all crbs, arrests aren't mentioned on anyones.Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

seconded - I too have an enhanced CRB - got it LAST WEEK and it doesn't record arrests.
We're not directing you to the 'none recorded' but the preprinted title on the relevant box.
What do you mean you want justice? - you haven't been done an 'injustice'; you haven't been found guilty of a crime you didn't commit.
As to removal of DNA and/or records from the database I am not 'expert' but I am under the impression this can be requested and that the police aren't actually supposed to retain evidence where a suspect is not charged. But you'll have to check this with someone else.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Your avatar should belong to my local Police force
I can't believe people are so unprotective about not blacking out info on their CRB checks

How is that relevant? Arrests aren't recorded on CRB forms.
When I fill in the application form I'm not ASKED if I have ever been arrested.
When the CRB clearance comes back every box is marked NONE RECORDED.
erm - on that link - almost all the information, other than the name of the applicant has been removed.
Sorry OP but you're beginning to look somewhat paranoid.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

This is the key point.
You need to find out, definitively, what the legal position is and what if anything you can do about it.
I personally hate the fact that the law allows unproved allegations to be used in an enhanced CRB. To me it goes completely against the principle of innocent until proved guilty and the right to face your accuser and defend yourself. However, wrongly in my view, the law does allow this in certain circumstances.
Also, there is a practical point here. If the form had been worded as you wish (i.e suspicion of possession of X) what, if any, difference do you think this would make to a potential employer in the real world. Sadly I suspect very little. Obviously if they didn't know of your arrest that would be a totally different matter but I honestly wonder if adding those two words would help very much. As I understand it this wouldn't be a problem with a standard CRB.
If you want to take this further you need specialist legal advice. If, as I fear, that advice is that nothing can be done then you need help to try and come to terms with that and move on.
I sympathise but that is of little help I'm afraid.0 -
OP is it possible that the letter saying that they intended to take no further action said "we will not be charging you with possession of x" or something similar, and incidentley if that is your CRB you have posted, there is enough information in it to trace you.0

Scheming Gypsy says he was arrested, wrongfully, on suspicion of armed robbery and has included a scanned copy of an enhanced CRB form which DOESN'T show this unproved allegation...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
