CRB information and wrongful arrest / information held

Are you talking about an enhanced CRB check or just a standard one?
As I understand it, with an enhanced check information can be passed in confidence regarding suspicions and ongoing investigations.
Also, legally this may not have been a "wrongful arrest" even if you were completely innocent of whatever was alleged.
To make a lawful arrest a constable only needs a "reasonable suspicion" that somebody has committed a crime. He does not need proof and there are many situations where it is perfectly reasonable to have suspicion even though it is later disproved.
Please don't shoot the messenger on this - I'm just explaining the process.0 -
Interesting information here, not that it will allow me to post a link, just replace the (dot) with .

Okay thanks, but I have seen job application forms that ask have you ever been arrested?
Guess if I get one of those its straight in the bin
And yes, I do mean an enhanced CRB, sorry again.
Okay, you can be arrested if a copper suspects you of something, but on "suspicion of X", not being in "possession of X" from the outset when a person wasn't. it's just wrong. isn't that defamation of character.
and I was in a cell for 7 hours before being grilled and let out on bail and ran home in tears, yes, men do hurt and cry you know
No one seems to get my grievance here

No, I do get it!
I'm just trying to separate what is legal from what is unjust as they can be two completely different things!
The question is does the law allow them to word their answer in this way in your circumstances?
If it doesn't then it should be possible to get some redress.
If it does then all one can do is fume and write to your MP.0 -
Thanks Uncertain.
It just shocks me that
(a) this happened in the first place and I'm not allowed to find out how or why they thought I'd done something
and
(b) that how shall I say, chose "incorrect" wording on all the paperwork.
I've lost about 5 years off my life I reckon in stress and just can't let it go. I am such a bitter resentful person now

With all due respect there has to be a process and, unfortunately for you that includes being arrested. Then presumably they looked for evidence and found none. So they wrote and told you this.

Someone I know was arrested and fined in court for possession of cannabis, however, he was open and upfront about it and got his security clearance and got \ job at the very top of the echelons of power.
However, there is a difference betweeen SC +CRB.
Being wrongfully arrested should not show on a crb in any case although it might show on a SC. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I could understand your stance if you had been convicted. But you haven't. The police made a mistake and/or you were wrongfully accused. That accusation will not haunt you - unless you let it.
Scheming Gypsy's is an enhanced CRB. Stop worrying!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

So what ARE you wanting?
I want justice.
I want my DNA, fingerprints and photograph deleting from their computer database.
Failing that, I want their pathetic incompetent incorrect wording changing to "suspicion of" on anything with my name on INSTEAD of "possession of" - as I was NEVER in possession of anything.
Surely as they let me go and gave me my belongings back they know know that?
