I think what this interesting thread is demonstrating is how much parental education influences the choices we make in life. Clearingout, waht you say about getting married and not thinking about the 'what ifs' and telling that you come from a background where divorce is not common is very telling. I am the opposite, both my grand-mothers divorced (although in the case of my maternal one, it was before she met my grand-father), and my parents divorced when I was 2. All the women in my family have worked even my great grand-mothers, so yes, I was probably much more prepared from a very early age at that possibility and the importance of being self-reliant.
This is what I find worrying. Our upbringing is without a doubt shaping our views on society and children being born from young women, relying on benefits are bound to be much likely to consider this their norm. I don't ever feel negative towards young pregnant girls, they must likely were never exposed to another world.0
