We are burning pine joinery offcuts on an open fire, love that it gets going quickly and burns quite hot. We have some oak pieces mixed in so those burn better when we have some glowing embers. Love free wood!!

Finishing off whats left of the oak, fair bit of ash at hand, with some to split too.

Finished work today (yipeeee) my techs filled a builders bulk bag with white wood, combo of kindling and, decent size stuff to eek out the logs, as said, burns quick, very hot and, free :j

Starting to use surefire ovoids too, bought 300 kilo, handy to have, especially if going out for a while, these wee beauties last for ages!!!

    Regards.....

If ever I get round to fitting a woodburner or open hearth fire have some Willow maturing. Am told it 'spits'. Also Apple and Plum and Ash for felling . And a lot of 6" thick leylandii.
  • I burn predominantly Ash as have a number of Ash trees on my plot. Burns well green too.

This might be useful for reference:

Whatever offcuts my partner brings home from work. Find Oak lasts the longest but to be honest its free so I'm not too bothered.
