I don't think that's strictly accurate. If a retailer offers a returns policy further to your statutory rights, then whatever those terms are will in ordinary circumstances form part of the retailer's contractual obligation to you. If they don't reserve a discretionary right to exercise the policy, they don't have one. Of course in practice they almost always will, but it's something to be aware of, because in my experience Trading Standards take a dim view of advertised policies that aren't followed.MarkyMarkD wrote:Any retailer offers to refund are entirely discretionary.0
