Warning / vent re AMAZON

I despair of some of the people on this site.
Someone pays for next day delivery and when they complain that delivery will take six days they are treated as some kind of moron.
This is another case where unfair terms and conditions legislation may come into play. If you charge someone a fee for next day delivery you can put as many terms as you like into your contracts but it's most likely they will be struck out if they completely negate the point of the service in the first place.
Rather like buying an electric heater, finding it doesn't work, and then someone pointing out that it says in the terms that the manufacturer is not liable of the heater does not raise the temperature.
And the fact that the delay is being caused by the courier is no 'get out' for Amazon because it is well know that this courier is unreliable. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Wow, someone with some sense!
To answer people:
1. Its not an xmas present, my shopping is done. Its just something I want. Sooooo don't jump to the conclusion that I have left it late to shop.
2. I can not collect it from depot. I will in a village with no bus service in remote Devon. Want me to walk it?!
3. This is not about me requiring the item the next day, it is about amazon not delivering on the contract I have with them. The courier being busy is not something that is 'out of their control'. Christmas comes every year and they should be prepared for that. Plus they choose to use the most unreliable courier around.
For info this is a VENT forum. So I vented. I didnt ask opinions. I was advising people that anything they order may be late so that they didnt get disappointed if they were buying xmas presents.
Anyway, I received a reply to my email this morning which I am very happy with. Companies will only offer good customer service if we demand it and how are they meant to know something is going wrong if we don't tell them.
