I ordered something from Amazon on Sunday night using my prime account (so i get free next day delivery). They dispatched on Monday but parcel been sitting in HDN depot since 7am Tuesday morning.

Various emails and a long phone call later Amazon admit they are having 'difficulty' with deliveries at the moment and my item with be with me by SATURDAY!!

I would recommend people be careful if ordering for xmas. It may not get to you on time.

Oh, and currently they are refusing to give me any compensation. Ha, they obviously dont know I use MSE and know my rights :)

You obviously don't know your rights as you have no legal right to compensation. They may give a goodwill gesture but if you go quotingg mse and imaginary rights you won't get anything

    Hmm, what rights I wonder?

I've been a prime customer for over three years, always found the service excellent. I wonder what the current difficulties are? I'm guessing it's something pretty much beyond their control. Could it be extreme weather in Scotland ?

What compensation do you think you are entitled to ?
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)
  • This is I suspect maybe an MSE thread for whatever reason.

Have you not all read Martins article on staying in for deliveries and compensation?? Prime accounts quote 'guaranteed next day delivery' which I did not get. I have just used his template letter in an email to them.

I live in South Devon. And my parcel is sat in the depot about 10 miles away from me :)

rule no 1 for ordering christmas presents, dont leave it to the last few weeks.

if you have to leave it till the last few weeks, know that it is VERY busy and not to expect things RIGHT NOW.

you know there was a motorway crash yesterday morning, royal mail van, seen the pictures? the driver didnt stand a chance, now your parcel most likely wasnt there, but think about everyone who's parcels are on there and shouted and screamed (like you), to be told what had happened, shut up a fair few i bet.

Now think about the driver's family, he died.

Amazon can't control what happens to that parcel once it leaves the depot, the weather has been a bit nasty too..

nothing you can do, your parcel will be with you soon.

I can't fault Amazon at the moment, I ordered something on Sunday night, turned up Tuesday late afternoon and something else last week turned up two days after ordering...both ordered using supersaver free delivery.
