Ok thanks, in any case, as I understand it, they could only realistically sue us for revenue lost, which in our case was £0 since we paid to park and our ticket blew over ... they were sent the evidence.

Yep, you've done more than enough and were very reasonable to give them the time of day in the first place. Relax and just carry on ignoring them now.

Or more likely it's got "sold" to the man on the next desk down whom has loaded another fake debt collectors letter-headed paper in the printer in the hope that you will be foolish enough to pay

Or even farmed-out to a "no-win no-fee" debt collectors whom deal with all sorts of debts of which they will pass a percentage back to the client if they are successful in getting the money (although these give up easily)
