Think about it if they had a case would they offer to take less! Relax your getting near the end now!0 -

What elements of all the advice given to you so far, including Orford's uncanny (not) prediction of the next letter in the meaningless chain, are so difficullt to grasp? Did you check out the sticky threads to see what comes next and to understand it's as meaningless as all the other letters you've received so far?
If you subsequently hear from Graham White or Roxburghe (same company, actually), then don't start panicking - it's just more of the same. Just ignore it all.0 -
Forgive us please, talesfromwales, if we just don't understand why you would even need to ask for help with computerised letters you should by now just be playing 'PPC snap' with. You did read the sticky threads I suggested? They are at the top of this very sub-forum.Coupon-mad wrote: »The stickies you should read are 'PPC letters, what to expect' and 'welcome, please read before posting' with the Watchdog youtube clip. Those are the only stickies you need to look at to understand this scam and to have your preview of the letters you will be ignoring.
For gawd's sake look at the letter chain and just play snap with each one till the letters stop. End of scam. How clear can it be?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Your not going to be fooled into paying for the full amount, but we are being nice and reducing the contract penalty in an half-ditched attempt at getting some money out of you (of which if you are foolish enough to pay, it will arrive 1 nanosecond after the closing time of the reduced payment offer so we will send another letter demanding the rest plus a bit more.)0 -
Just wanted to add to this thread. Back in early July we were parked in a privately owned car park whilst visiting the beach adjacent to it. It was on the top of a cliff and our ticket blew over. We got one of those fixed penalty notices and panicked and rang them whilst on hol to explain what happened. We ended up sending the ticket via recorded delivery to prove to them we had paid but they said it didn't matter we still needed to pay the fine. We ignored it and didn't hear from them again - until just before Christmas ie a whole 5 1/2 months later !!!! We are receiving the same letters as the OP. How can we take them seriously when they allowed over 5 months to lapse before starting their legal threats again ? All letters are being ignored. Latest one today is a NOTICE OF INTENDED LITIGATION.... no reduced payment offer though lol.0

Can I make a couple of corrections? - This is not a "fine" and it's not a "fixed penalty notice".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Indeed you can - sorry, it seems that long ago that the "thing" was slapped on our window screen, that I forget what exactly it was !
Never mind that though, what do you think about the fact that we heard nothing for over 5 months and then now they are demanding money, is this typical ?0 -
Yes, very typical. Sometimes it can be over a year when the "debt" is sold on (at a discount) to yet another debt recovery company. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
-
Presumably, if they did try to sue us in court though, the fact that so much time has lapsed would be called into question ?0

A claim has up to 6 years to be filed in a County Court but most PPCs never ever try Court. Debt Recovery Plus is all about computerised letters including 'Zenith' (another of their trading names).
The letters are all shown in pics in the top thread on the forum, just play snap with them.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
