Never order from Tesco Photo!!

You are being a complete @rse.
There is a clue in the title of this forum: praise, VENTS and warnings.
You can often get people to see reason without having to result to personal abuse, when they are clearly already frustrated.A smile costs nothing, but gives a lot.It enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it.A smile takes only a moment, but the memory of it can last forever.0 -
After you have ordered personalised goods you have no rights to cancell........ so why on earth would you try check the order is correct AFTER completing the order!!!! Surely you'd check it was correct BEFORE committing to it?[\QUOTE]
That was why I was so frustrated, there was no way for me to check before and nowhere on the order confirmation to tell me what I had actually ordered.
Is there actually a law that states that you can't cancel after ordering personalised goods? Would it not be covered by DSR? Anyway I'm sure if I had phoned them straight away they would have been able to cancel, production would not start as soon as my payment was processed.0 -
Personalised products are excluded from the DSRs.
A retailer may be willing to cancel an order before they have begun production, but that wouldn't be under the terms of the DSRs.0 -
You would not believe how angry I am right now!
I think the Tesco website should explicitly state the actual dimensions rather than a subjective small/medium/large. But there is also an onus on the customer to check this if size is important
Annoying as it may be, they've agreed to refund even though you should take part responsibility for not checking the dimensions before ordering. I think you should be grateful for that.0 -

They do. See here: http://www.tescophoto.com/photobookcreator You can see the dimensions for each type of book.Photobook M (hardcover)
Size:14 x 14 cm
24 pages: £11.97(ex. shipping)
Extra pages: £0.60 (max 120 pages)
Gloss:£0.55 (per 2 pages)
Photobook L (hardcover) Size:21 x 21 cm
24 pages: £19.97 (ex. shipping)
Extra pages: £0.65 (max 120 pages)
Gloss:£0.55 (per 2 pages)
This is the only one they do that seems to come in a medium and large, so assume it's the one that was ordered.0 -
So it turns out I have ordered the medium (which is actually tiny!!).
I then say to them that nowhere on my order confirmation does it say that I have ordered a medium. In fact all my order confirmation says is
"We have received the payment for your order via the Tesco Photobook Creator. Your order will be processed and dispatched within 14 days."
Surely it should say somewhere what I have ordered??
One wonders whether it should state within the order confirmation what size you ordered ...
More to the point, did you explicitly select MEDIUM even though the stated dimensions should have told you it was too small? Or did it just default to this without giving you the choice, which would be extremely surprising?0 -
If you click on 'My Home', then 'Order History' you get an itemised list of everything you've ordered including the size.
The order confirmations from Tesco Photos also include every last detail of what you've ordered.......twice.

its a mistake that you've made and surely this is something you double check before hitting the "place order " button...i know that i always check to make sure I have the right thing and if not, go back and alter it!
i think your very lucky in them giving you a full refund for a personalised book as they won't be able to use it again adn will just be scrapping it...its very rare and rightly so that companies refund personalised things as its a One off thing for a specific name/person that can't be of any use to Tesco!
hopefully you will double check in future!5lb a Month Challenge 2012:j

I completely understand why this person wont shop with Tesco photo again. We ordered a photo canvas for my mums birthday on 15th October and the order was accepted with no issues noted at that time. The expected delivery time was 7 -10 days. On 21st we checked the status of the order (don't say we should have checked sooner as we are very busy people)only to find that Tesco had cancelled our order. We called on 22nd to be told that they had cancelled it due to a poor quality and were advised that we should have been informed via email, which they agreed we had not been. The nice man called Chicko agreed that he would look into this for me as he understood that this was their error. He agreed to call us back on 24th after speaking to his boss. In the meantime I called my bank to find out that Tesco had processed and taken their payment from my bank on 17th. There was nothing showing that it was being refunded. No call came on 24th (today) So we called back. We spoke to another nice lady Jackie who informed us that the payment had been sent to our bank for refund on 21st but again she would look into this for us with the big wigs. I wanted to know what they were going to do to help us with our situation. In the meantime I called my bank to see if the money was being refunded to be told that again there was nothing showing and could take 7-10 days to be refunded. Jackie duly called us back to say that the big wigs had made us a compensation offer of 20% off our next order to Tesco Photo. HOW ANGRY WAS I - considering we now had no gift for 23rd, was going to be £60 out of pocket from 17th when they took my money & did not start the refunding process until 21st and could now take another 7-10 days to get back in my account - Her reply was that it's not her fault that my bank could take so long as they had refunded it straight away. (my reply was that my bank say it is their bank that take this long and it was not straight away as it was from 17th till 21st ) She then said that she would need to check with her boss again. This was at 10:30am and it's now 12:30pm with no reply.
WHY OH WHY would I want to use them again to get a measly 20% off when our whole day was ruined and I need to now spend more money to get something else with no refund until a week after they took my money. :mad:0 -

How on earth has this ruined your whole day ? A normal sense of perspective may be in order here. Yes you have been messed around but your reaction is massively OTT IMO.0
