Never order from Tesco Photo!!

You would not believe how angry I am right now!
I ordered a photobook book on December 3rd. It is a Christmas present for my grandmother - I spent days (literally) restoring loads of her wedding photos to be put into the book.
It arrived today and was A LOT smaller than I thought it would be so I assumed they had sent me the wrong size. I went to check my order online and it said my order didn't exist. I checked my emails from them and it didn't say what I had ordered. So then I phoned customer service and explained that I have received the wrong size and they say oh no you have received the correct one.
So it turns out I have ordered the medium (which is actually tiny!!).
I then say to them that nowhere on my order confirmation does it say that I have ordered a medium. In fact all my order confirmation says is
"We have received the payment for your order via the Tesco Photobook Creator. Your order will be processed and dispatched within 14 days."
Surely it should say somewhere what I have ordered??
I explained to them that if in my order confirmation it had said I was ordering a medium I would have phoned and cancelled straight away.
They offered me a full refund if I return the item but then I will have nothing to give my grandmother on Christmas day.
I know a full refund is good for a photo gift that can't be used again but I was hoping for some sort of goodwill gesture, I can't afford to order the large in time for delivery before Christmas. My nans gift will look really measly now
And then they had the cheek to phone me back and ask me to forward the confirmation email to them so they could change it for next time. No good for me though!!
I wish I had gone with photobox!

So you don't actually know what size you ordered? I suspect you ordered a medium, have discovered that medium's smaller than you expected and now are blaming Tesco because they don't happen to include the size in their confirmation email! I can't see what they've done wrong, personally."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Your nan will love it just the same as you have put so much effort into it.0

Did you check the actual size? i.e. the dimensions of the book & the dimensions of the photos that would be printed in the book? If you've no idea what size you ordered then I wouldn't be complaining that they'd agreed to refund you. Photobooks take a few days to do so you will still have time to order another if that's what you wish. Snapfish only take 5 days between ordering and delivery.
ANd as for saying it will look measly, I doubt it. You've spent time restoring photos and putting them into a book for her to keep forever. That's hardly measly. The time and thought that has gone into it mean a heck of a lot more than how big it is or how much you spent. I get my parents a photo calendar or photobook each year, costs about a fiver and is worth more to them than any present that I could buy for £1000.Clean credit file:12 mthsCar loan: FREE! :jTHE PLAN: 1.Pay off debt £8808.42(£3254.45, £1570.32, £2698.33, £0:dance:, £1000, £285.32) 2.Save monthly for Christmas/insurance etc £150 per month 3.Save for emergencies /£1500 4.Save for our B&B £????depends which one takes our fancy0 -

I had assumed I had ordered the large and there was no way for me to check what I had ordered. I don't think I should have had to phone up to check my order was correct. Fair enough I made the mistake in pressing medium and not large at the beginning of the process but to not be able to check what you have ordered seems really odd to me.
It would have been nice if maybe they had let me pay the difference in price and then I could return the 'medium' book, then I would have the correct book in item for Christmas. I simply cannot afford to pay out twice for it so close to Christmas.
I know I am the one who pressed medium instead of large but it would have been nice if the customer service people had been a little more understanding.0 -
How understanding do you want them to be?
They've offered you a full refund for YOUR mistake, that is goodwill...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Do you think you're really upset because you wanted it to be a really special present and now you're worried it won't be? I bet your grandmother will love it, simply because of all the effort you've put in. Let's face it, she won't know there was a larger option anyway"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

You are being a complete @rse.
Having not used the Tesco site I shouldn't comment, but, I would be very surprised if you were not shown exactly what you ordered before the final 'order now' mouse click.
Get Granny a tin of Quality Street for Chrimbo. Tell her that her proper present had to be ordered specially and hasn't arrived yet (white lie defence).
Then take up Tesco's kind offer of paying for your mistake and get someone who can read to order the large photobook for you.0 -

That course you took at the charm school is really paying dividends. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
After you have ordered personalised goods you have no rights to cancell........ so why on earth would you try check the order is correct AFTER completing the order!!!! Surely you'd check it was correct BEFORE committing to it?
After reading this i'd definately consider using them now, knowing their after support is so good! To be offered a full refund on customised goods is spot on.
Now stop blaming other people for your mistake!!!!!0 -
Somebody very wise once said to me that it's not the size that matters, it's how you use it...'til the end of the line0
