Update.. ive just been to Crewe University with my Niece, i was given a pass to park in the carpark but all the signs said i still had to buy a ticket as i had entered into a contract with the parking company and if i didnt pay up i would be charged £35 or £70 if i didnt pay within 14 days, i left the car and went for a coffee and came back and sat on a bench near the car for nearly an hour and still no-one came to ticket me. I must be really unlucky me.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Was it a Uni Open Day?
I went to several Uni Open Days in the South last year with my DS1 and the parking parasites were clearly called off that day, none in sight anywhere - in spite of the usual signs which I laughed at. In many cases we were also give a pass to display.
It was annoying though as you could see it was only done to give good impression of the Uni, and doubly annoying because it was obvious that these car parks work perfectly well - even on a very busy day - without a scumbag protection racketeer on site.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

We've just got our first ever Private Eye scam notice :T.
Last Saturday we went to the panto in Llandudno and parked on the Mostyn Champneys retail park. It's free to park there but earlier this year they invited PE to scam their customers so you now have to "pay" if you stay for more than three hours. We didn't expect to stay more than three hours but the panto went on for longer than expected so we ended up staying for three hours and thirty three minutes. I'm really tempted to write to PE and offer to pay for the thirty three minutes at a rate of £0.00 per hour but on second thoughts there's some grass growing in our garden that I'm going to watch instead.
The unfortunate thing though is that lots of other people who left the theatre also headed over to Mostyn Champneys so I expect a lot of other panto goers will be receving scam notices as well, and not all of them will know the correct course of action. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

Do you mean "Parking Eye". To my knowledge I don't think Mr. Hislop has gone into the private parking industry. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

It IS Parking Eye at the Mostyn Champneys, and Parc Llandudno. I wonder how much of a backhander, and cream off the top of the invoices paid, the owners Mostyn Estates get from Parking Eye? Or do they pay it to the managing agents Savills?0
-
The time is fast approaching when retailers will be more scared of empty car parks than the odd chancer abusing free parking. Managing agents will have to kiss their little backhanders goodbye to retain the goodwill of the tenants. Whatever the trough feeders of Westminster decide, PPCs have had their day. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

I don't go out of my way to get a PPC ticket and I do pay appropriately. Euro Car Parks, for example, would have profited to the tune of a couple of quid from a visit I made to a supermarket they provide P & D facilities to recently. I certainly have no objection to doing this. It was well signed and extremely clear what was expected and £2 is entirely the going rate.
It doesn't stop my visiting other car parks where PPC's operate with arbitrary and unreasonable restrictions and even then I don't set out to deliberately breach their rules but if it happens then it happens. I've yet to collect another.
I am hoping that UKPC will oblige me shortly after a visit I made recently to the car park of an establishment they cover. Go on Pete make my Christmas. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

For some reason I keep calling them Private Eye. There is a difference, I happily send money to Private Eye once a year. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
