I dont know about on tarmac so if you fancied giving it a go on a small area first you could try the cheap bleach that you get in Tesco (approx 29p for 2 litres - THIN BLEACH) and spray it on, leave it for 24 hours and try to do it when you know it is not going to rain. I do it about every 6-8 weeks on our block paving and it works a treat. I use a back pack sprayer, I tried it with a watering can but it goes on too thickly and costs a fortune in bleach.

Do you rinse it off with a pressure washer or a hose or just leave it?
