Easiest way...power washer but diluted bleach and a stiff brush will work just as well.

Yesterday it took me over 3 hours pressure washing down my patio to remove all the moss. I am very impressed with the results, it looks like it's just been laid.

I wanted to know if anyone could recommend any treatement i should use to prevent further growth.

I would also like to paint something onto it to give the surface perhaps a "glaze" or a "wet look" effect.

    Thanks!!
    Regards,

Did you particularly want an eco-friendly option, or did you post in the wrong forum? :D

(Blackbirds are making nests with our moss ;))
    My TV is broken!

You will also have washed out the mortar holding it all together.

Found this idea, which is pretty green and uses that Old Syle favourite - vinegar! Also uses a lot less water and no electricity - hooray!
Couldn't find anything like the glaze that you mentioned - is this something that you have seen or your own invention?

The problem is more with algea rather than moss on mine.

It gets really slippery when wet and I am forced to get out the pressure washer.

I have tried all sorts of expensive solutions - they are all a form of acid - and they still need the residue washed away and are not really effective on large areas.

I think by 'Glaze' the OP means a sealant

If moss gets into tarmac, it will take away the surface eventually, lawn sand might work, but with the roots embedded no permanent cure except only have paths/patios where they get the sun.

Any of you Percy Thrower types know how I can clear moss from tarmac?
I've been power spraying for 3 hours and it's still hanging around.
