Scrap or sell car ??
Comments
-
I'm keeping my '96 reg car. Im not scrapping that and mine has more faults done twice as many miles and has no MOT.
....and so has no road tax and no insurance making it illegal and yourself, dare I say it, a criminal.
No wonder costs for law abiding users are so high.
...........unless of course you are fishing

He said he's keeping it, not using it.0

What makes you think it needs a new exhaust and cat?
I'd take it to a garage just for them to give it a once over (not kwik fit!) and see what state it is in. Might be something as simple as a gasket, might need a back box.
If it turns out to be nothing much, think about MOTing it, stuff like dodgy starter or clutch isn't an MOT failure, but you'd get at least another £100-£150 for 12 months ticket I reckon, I've seen wrecks with 12 months MOT go for near £500 on ebay.0 -
Its decided , fiesta is off to my ATF this Saturday , where all its life will be sucked from it !!

,,,and i walk away with the correct DVLA dissposal forms and £130 cash in my pocket , and a 3 months tax refund

£130 for a 2000 Reg Fiesta... dear oh dear... oh dear.0 -

Polish it up, hoover it out, take decent pics and slap it on ebay with a £140 reserve. Include an honest description.
Keeps a decent car on the roads, it could be a god send to a cash strapped student or single mum (who's good with spanners!)
You’re looking at around £500 to get it ‘right’, which would make the value of the car now around £750 (based on the price of the car my niece’s boyfriend is driving: X reg, burgundy, 66,000 miles, paid £1500).
You’re best off either getting the work done or selling it to someone that can, as Ford stuff is so cheap to fix if it goes wrong!💙💛 💔0 -
i was thinking can i remove the wheel covers and the ford radio/cassette before scrapping ?
Anything elseworth keeping ?0 -
If you live near I'll take it off your hands for £130 this evening!
Such a shame sending a car off to the scapper when it only needs a few pounds spent to keep it on the road for another few years.0 -
Floormats?
Battery, if it is any good?
Probably easier to just let it go and be shot of it though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
